Activity
Teachers and translators
will introduce themselves
and answer any questions
the students have.
Students will either write
down or think of as many
words or letters as they
can remember from the
previous lessons.
The teacher will call on
students to come write a
letter or a word on the
board that they
remembered. After the
student writes on the
board and returns to their
seat the teacher will
practice saying the letter
slowly so the students can
get used to their
pronunciation.
Students will turn to the
person next to them and
practice saying the old
words.
The teacher will hold up
pictures of the past words

in real life. The students

will try to identify them
and write either the letter
it starts with or the word
(depending on what they
can do- give the students
a choice) and write it
down or remember in their
head. The teacher will call
on students to hear their
answers. * For really
advanced students you
could ask them to make a
sentence with the word.
Total Physical Response
Race: Tell the students
you will say a word and
they will need to make the
letter with their hands (as
a pair). The first pair to
make the letter wins and
the teacher will go around
and check. Go through all
previous letters (F, B, M,
K, T, R, P, S, N, J, H, )
*Brain Break* Have
students play simon says

At the end say simon says
sit down and start second

Teacher will teach the new
letter and teach students
how to write the new
letter. First they will
listen, then they will trace
the letter in the air with
their finger. The teacher
will watch individual
students write the letter.
The teacher will also
repeat the letter many

copying her.
The teacher will call on
individual students to
mimic her pronunciation
of the letter. They can
stand up and she will say
the letter and they will say
it back. Then she can
praise them and they can
sit down. She should call
on several students and at
the end add a few extra
sounds that will lead into
tomorrows words.
