What is my world view?

As I grow up I have had to discern for myself what I believe and

where I stand on different worldview topics. To be honest I still am not 100% sure on everything
I believe, but, as I continue to experience life and grow spiritually, I intend to find out. As a
Christian my fundamental beliefs are rooted in Christianity which greatly shapes my world view.
As a Christian I believe that God is the highest power in the universe, I believe He always
was and always will be, He has no begging or end. My brain does not comprehend that God is
timeless, but that is why God is sovereign and in charge of it all and I am not. I believe God is
the highest power because without Him this world, this universe does not make since. Like
Jerimiah says, God nits us together in our mothers womb, He works all things together. I
believe that God is masculine, mostly because I picture Him as my heavenly Father. Fathers
always will love their children and want what is best for them. This does not mean that He is
never hard on them, fathers are hard on their children, because they want to help their children
go in the right direction. Even though, I believe that God is masculine I also believe He has
feminine qualities because He is like a mother hen protecting her chicks (Mathew 23:27).
Concerning truth, I believe that truth exists. I believe that to find truth I need to look to
the word of God and to my Heavenly father. I believe that there are religious absolute truths.
However, I do not believe that these truths are meant to be barriers among people. Sometimes, I
think that in religion people take an absolute truth and use it to make divisions among people and
that is not what should happen. God intended for us to love and support one another, not to use
His word as an excuse for division among his people.
Believing that God is the highest power, I believe that He created this amazing universe
we live in. I believe God most likely created the world through some sort of evolutionary

process; I believe this because scientifically it makes the most since to me. As a Christian and a
person who loves science I cannot disregard the facts of evolution and old earth. However, I also
cannot disregard how incredible creation is. Just learning about the brain, I know it could not
have happened without some interaction form God.

Believing that God used evolution to create

the world does not limit Him; in fact it makes me even more in awe of Him. God created the
world good, right and whole unfortunately, the fall changed that.
Humans messed up and disobeyed God, messing up His perfect, good world. Humans
where created with free will not necessarily good or evil, but with choice. When Eve first sinned
the cycle of brokenness started. We humans are broken, in need of forgiveness and guidance. We
as humans are sinful in nature. Fortunately, we have a loving Creator who sent His son Jesus to
die for our sins so that the brokenness can be made whole (John 3:16 & John 10:10). As a
Christian I believe that the only way people can get to Heaven after our time on earth is done, is
through the blood of Jesus Christ. However, as an inclusivist, I do not necessarily believe that a
person needs to personally accept Jesus as their savior. I believe that if someone has not had a
fair opportunity to except Christ, Jesus blood will cover them and they will be saved.
As humans, we do sin. However, I do believe that concerning our ethical condition we
have morals that dwell within us. I believe these morals are given to every human because we are
made by a blameless Father. As humans, I believe we as individuals can discern right from
wrong. We know that lying, stealing, cheating and killing are all wrong and we know that
helping someone and respecting others is right. However, even though we know the difference
wrong and right, culture shapes our ethics greatly. For example: slavery is wrong and horrible
but it still happened because culture said it was okay. I believe when slavery in America was the
normal people knew deep down it was wrong but still people where enslaved, and slave-owners

found ways to justify it because there culture said that it was right, there was not anything wrong
with it.
Life on earth is painful and not easy because of sin, so why are we here? I believe that we
are all here because God created us for this specific time, for a specific purpose. That purpose is
to give praise to our creator and ultimately serve Him on this earth. We give Him praise by living
for Him and coming to Him when we need Him. As Christians we are called to be disciples of all
nations to all people. We can do this by simply living in the right way and showing others Christ
by how we share His love. By sharing Gods love to others we can be filled with the love of
Christ as well as bring glory to our King. Living our life for Christ and through Christ is what
gives me meaning on this broken earth, until I go to live with Him.
As a Christian death is not a scary to me, because I will not die, my body will die but my
spirit will not. When my time comes and Jesus calls me home my spirit will go to live with Him
forever. I believe that once my body dies I will be reunited with my loved ones who have gone
on before me and we will live in the presence of God worshiping him forever and ever. My body
will die and be left on earth and eventually return to earth from which everything was created,
but my spirit will live on.
I believe that Jesus is part of the trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus is
very important because by His death and Resurrection He opens up a passage to Heaven. I
believe that Jesus came in flesh and lived on earth, sharing His love with others, setting the
example for His children. Jesus is the Son of God but He is also God, Creator, Redeemer and
Friend.

I am a follower of Christ, a Christian. I believe that as a Christian I am Gods child, here

on earth, for His purposes. Growing up in a Christian home, Christianity is the only religion I
have ever really known, but I now can personally claim that I am Christian and my beliefs are
rooted in Christianity. I have seen Jesus work in my life and the lives of my friends and family,
so why would I not believe? I cannot answer that question so I proudly claim that I am a Child of
God.
