AGENDA

Welcome and Introductions


o 10 new PE teachers in PSD!

Learning Target
o Review district expectations for common assessments, performance rubrics, and Fitness Gram
testing.
o Approve/recommend changes to 2nd grade loco motor performance rubric.
o Identify PSD PE elementary teachers needs/wants.

Common Assessment
o 5th grade: post-test only, test must be completed as early as late April, to late May
o Administer through Black Board or in paper/pencil (Scantron) format
o You no longer need to request your courses through Paul Meyer, please use the link on your
personal Black Board site
o No questions are to be deleted, all 29 are to be tested
o In Black Board click on: PE_PRE_POST_ASSESS: PE Pre and Post Assessments, and follow
the directions for how to import and launch your test
o Must be administered at school under the supervision of a teacher
o Record and save all data in both electronic and paper copy. These scores will need to be
transferred at a later time. As of today no district wide data collection tool has been identified.
Concern has been raised over: length of the test and the short time frame available to test

Performance Rubrics
o 2nd grade students: Loco motor Skills
o 3rd grade students: Overhand Dynamic Throw
Pre-test completed in August or September, or at the beginning of a particular unit
Post-test completed in April or May, or at the end of a particular unit
o Record and save all data in both electronic and paper copy. These scores will need to be
transferred at a later time.

Fitness Gram 10.2


Brand new Presidential Youth Fitness Program Award report to easily view students
achieving the Healthy Fitness Zone in at least five areas for the PYFA
Two additional reports for the student app: AG Lite Survey and FG Knowledge Tests
a. Expectations: All testing protocols and procedures are followed according to the Fitness Gram
Test Administration Manual

b. Grades Tested & When


Post-test all 4th and 5th grade students any time after January. Must have all test results entered
into the Fitness Gram program by May 15th. Pre-test or practice tests can be administered but
it is up to each individual teacher.
o When you create your test in the Fitness Gram program be sure to label PRE or POST

Elementary Fitness Tests


Aerobic Capacity: Pacer (20m)
Muscular Strength & Endurance: 90 Push-ups, Curl Ups and Trunk Lift
Flexibility: Shoulder Stretch
o Teachers can choose to test the sit-and-reach as an additional test. It is not required, and if
done must be in addition to the shoulder stretch.
Body Composition: not tested or recorded at the elementary level
o Teachers can choose to inform students of their BMI and Body Composition, however,
PSD will not report this information to students or their parents/guardians.

o Synergy app is working
o Your devices are now coded/tracked through Insignia, any check-in/out, damage goes through
your building
