In Earths history, it was seconds in the past
It appeared, prospered a while, didnt last
Couldnt manage, for long, to stay alive
Because only the fittest can survive
It was well adapted to its time and place
Conditions changed, extinction to face
Not by an asteroids cloud of dust
But because, in numbers, it did trust
Others, faster and stronger came
It had to die out in deepest shame
Now only its fossils can be found
Of an entity that once did abound
This is the result of failure to adapt
Change occurs and it is scrapped
