Worksheet for Evaluating College Research

March 2015
Your Plans: When we did our initial survey, your plans after high school were:
Go to a college in Michigan in the Health Science Pathway.

Reflection: I was off by the thousands when it came to the cost of Tuition. When younger you
always hear talk of college and how expensive it is. Doing this research has made me
realize that the cost is not as much as I thought but still expensive. For the room
and board although I did guess around the proper amount knowing how much it costs
to eat and rent some place.

In community colleges prices are much cheaper, and as I learned that its not
because the education is less than that of other colleges but because the
campus/classroom size is smaller. The prices I guessed although are a lot more than
the actual price which is a good thing! But like all of the other guesses for prices on
the Housing I guessed to low.

University and

how much they want you to go there. This is the reason I chose this particular
college. I estimated around $3,000-5,000 but the true cost was in the hundreds
range which was way under my estimation because I thought that everything about
college was expensive but as it turns out it wasnt that expensive. For the tuition per
semester turned out to be about $300 more than my estimated guess. Lastly, for the
room and board I estimated less than $1,000 because I didnt think that the room
and board would be that much but it turns out that it is about $3,500.

Smaller College (Siena/Adrian):

Reflection: Again, I was way off by the thousands because I was lead to believe collage is more
costly than it actually is. The only one than I thought was less expensive was the

Room & Board, because I thought smaller college, smaller rooms etc.
