tonsofcontroversyaroundSeaworldafterthemakingonBlackFish.Averybiasedfilmcreated
onhatingSeaworld.ThefilmcoveredgoodpointsonhowSeaworldisabadenvironment,now

Tostartisthatkeepinganimalsincaptivitycancausestressandpsychologicalproblemsthatcan
doastronomicallydamage.Anexampleisatseaworldandhowstresswiththeanimalsnever

Tilikum'sTragicStorySeaWorldofHurt").AlsoprovinghowSeaworldtreatsitsanimals
poorlyishowTilikumhasacollapseddorsalfin.DorsalFinscollapsingareasignofunhealthy
andstressedorcas.Ithappensalotincaptivity,butveryrarelyinthewild.Ittalksaboutthe
researchputintofindoutwhycaptivitykillsorcasandtheythinkcausescouldbestressand
psychologicalproblems.

captivityduringtheirreproductiveyears.Theyneverdointhewild.It'svery,veryrarefor
reproductivefemalestodieinthewildshe'lldieonceshehitsmenopause,samething.This
researchshowshowcaptivityisliterallykillinglife.AlsoOrcasareforcedtodounnaturalthings
atSeaworld.Seaworldmakesthereorcasdoterribleandunnecessarythings,rangingfromforced

SomepeoplemaybelievethatplaceslikeSeaworldorzooshaveeducationalvalue,
sayingthattheseplacesarereallytheonlychanceforpeopletoseethesemajesticcreaturesup
close.Thecalculationswerethatseaworldwouldhavetotake2000boatstripsadaytoRonson
BiteinordertohavealltheguestsofseaworldseetheOrcas.Thepublicdoesnotneedtogetup
closeandpersonalwithanimals.Youcanreadabouttheminbooks,thereareeducational
picturesandvideostolearnabouttheseanimals.Leaveituptothescientiststodiscoverwhat
liesbeneaththedepthsotherthanforcingwhatliesunderthedepthstothesurface.Anothervalid
reasonhowseaworldcouldbebetteristhatSeaworldisthelargestrehabilitationprograminthe
world.Seaworldhasrescued24,000animalsrangingfrombirdstoturtlesanddolphins.The
problemisthattheyrescuetheseanimalsbutdonotprovidethepropercareforthem,resultingin
diseasesorproblemswiththeanimals.Alsomakethemdotricks.Iftheywantedtohelpthe
animals,bringthembacktothewildwheretheybelong.
