jump out at him
remains to be

key.
Formats my
radio drama will be a single play as this is a one off story containing the story of
Arno Andrews to survive a horror game show. It fits into this format because this
is a one of story and there will not be any more episodes, but one day could be
made into a feature length film, so this would make it play as this is the only
edition.
Plot Arno Andrews a recent RAF Soldier who got kicked out of the RAF in Benson
along with other soldiers for no apparent reason, he finds himself in a low
situation, with a relationship on the rocks, and a unborn child to come anytime
soon. Arno finds himself in a depressed situation and doesnt know what to do.
With Arno out of the RAF force now, Benson has been non existant for years
and people do not know what is going on their, many soldiers were made
redundant and eventually ended up with no one there, no one even knows what
it is now. Some say its been a ghost town for years. On a quiet night in before
Arno is asleep, he mysteriously finds people in his house but cannot see who he
is, who eventually kidnapps him and gets taken to a familiar place, Benson. The
place hasnt been seen for nearly 12 years and Arno finds himself back there in a

building tied up, with a myserious voice which is disguised telling him about
where he is, what he has to do, and what his objective is, Arno has no idea what
is going on. What Arno is in is a game show, but this is what he doesnt know, so
the game show is being broadcasted and there are also 6 other players in the
game, this is also another important fact that Arno does not know so he doesnt
know what to expect. Arno is back in Benson for the first time in over 10 years
and the place is pitch black, deserted, as if there was a zombie apocalypse, it
would be hard to imagine there was ever life there, the only thing Arno has at
this point is a small flash light, the objective of the game is to survive, find
supplies, and find the one and only key to get out, there is only key and only one
person can make it out, the RAF base is massive, buildings such as houses,
offices, garages, hangers, any many other types of buildings, in all of these
buildings there are supplies, but one of the firsts things he finds is a compass
which at this point he doesnt know much about which can help Arno survive,
and locations to sleep but the game can only be played at night, not during day
time. Arno finds himself going from building to building in search of supplies and
the key for to get out, but only he doesnt know that he is alone with jump
scares, mysterious people, and other players in the game which can have an
effect on Arno. Arno comes into encounters with other players in the game who
have turned mentally insane due to the intensity of the game which he
eventually come out with. The key is placed in the Marshalls Bedroom in a chest
in his Bedroom under his bed, but Only does Arno realise that the compass he
finds right at the start is magnified to the key, the compass was the key piece of
equipment to be guided to the key which Arno found. With the key Arno makes
his way to the gate to then find this triggers alarm in the whole base, which
everyone left in the game can hear, Arno runs as quickly as he can to the gate as
he is not sure of what the alarm is for, to see then Arno is suddenly being chased
down by these old RAF half dead people, which look like zombies, he as quick as
he can gets to the gate and enters the key to the gate with other players in the
game also see that Arno has entered the key into the gate but only one can get
through, Arno Gets through to then hear this mysterious voice again
congratulating him to then find it was his wife controlling the game the whole
time and broadcasting it on television, his wife created the game show and
specifically wanted him in the game, this is a cliff hanger ending with his wife
walking through a door.
Genre - This is appropriate to the genre because my drama will contain action
footage and jump scares which could be seen as horror and thriller both
together, I feel this is a very good combination as you do not see much horror
and action combined together so I think this is really good, from research I found
in target markets, I understand that it is a very strained industry, but with action
and horror combined together I feel this is offering something unique and would
interest many more people. I feel also this could become into a film and is
something that could happen in the future
Narrative - My drama will be a open, non linear narrative as their will be flash
backs involved, and also it will be a open ending, with a cliff hanger so then the
audience can then wonder what is going to happen next, and come to their own
conclusions on what might happen, this is a great social point for people to then
interact and talk. With research I found that many radio dramas such as the

Archers use cliff hanger endings so it is a technique to create more drama and
get people to listen to the next piece.
On Air my drama will be aired BBC Radio 4 is this is the biggest radio drama
station, and I feel a later time of 21:30 will be the time I use as it is at night, still
relatively early so people can put their radios on and listen, also to my target
market more adults will be awake around this time and be able to listen to the
drama either in their cars, at home, or on their phones, its also dark at this time
which sets the mood for my drama.
Character Profile
Arno Andrews 32 years old, Brown hair, 510 history as RAF Soldier who gets
made redundant along with many other RAF soldiers, background of growing up
in oxford and always having aspirations for being in the RAF which he did at the
age of 16, at the age of 26 was made redundant from the RAF and got part time
job as he couldnt be posted anywhere else, having family problems, arguing
wife and divorce is possible, but she is pregnant with his child. A driven
character, a clever person and can deal with situations on the spot when needed.
Indy Barrock 28 years old, based in RAF in Scotland, who is put into the game,
Arno comes across him in the Game and become friends until he becomes
mentally insane and tries to kill arno, Indy is Scottish but brought up in Oxford,
61 tall, Joined RAF at 19 years old, character is very quiet, subdue, becomes a
good friend of Arno who eventually lets the game get to him and tries to kill him.
Darcy Andrews 28 years old, 53, wife of Arno. Been having many problems
with Arno and sick of his laziness and lack of enthusiasm. Comes across as a
strange, questionable person and comes across abit crazy. Pregnant with Arnos
child, 11 weeks. She is the person who masterminds the whole game on the RAF
base and puts arno in it.
Sterotype Arnos sterotype is you could see him as Sterotype of a RAF soldier,
very commited to his job, driven, but also realism in that he suffers from
marriage problems, which is a problem in many peoples lifes in England and it is
something to relate to. Ages 32, pregnant where many women around that age
in a relationship find themselves pregnant where this is something people can
relate to. There can be many stereotypes made from britsish people, from a
stereotype of a chav being based in London, to a businessman in a suit driving
a expensive car.
Target Audience
My demographic for this Radio Drama isnt as specific as others because I think
many other people will also enjoy this, my target range for this radio drama is 17
50 year old men and women but I predict that mostly men will be more
interested into listening to it. I think this because the story will be appealing to
men as it will contain action and jump scares, which some women may not like. I
have also chosen 17 50 year old men because I feel that with this age bracket
its detailing the group of people who would most likely be interested in it, I think
people above 60 will want to listen to more relaxing and old fassioned story
whereas people who are between this age bracket would be more interested in
horror, action, and the story of my radio drama. I think especially with my
content invoved in my radio drama I find that other people may not enjoy the

ideas I have involved such as the story, the jump scares, the anticipation, I dont
think this would be suitable for older people and with my target audience I
believe this realistically is the age bracket in which people would like to hear the
content I have involved. With my genres being Action and Horror, the audience
can expect their to be frantic scenes and hear frantic panic like noises, obviously
to the horror side aswell dramatic noises such as fading footsteps, pure silence,
slow breathing, scary music which will all build up to anticipation for the
audience and keep them gripped to my story as this creates that dramatic effect
for the horror content.
Budget
For a studio for my radio drama to be recorded, that will cost 899 for 1 week,
baring in mind that this studio cost depends on which type of studio I go for, and
what equipment is involved actors will cost me 50 per hour with a lot of the
sounds being pre recorded, but some sounds will need to be downloaded with a
budget for 200, for the radio drama edition there will be two actors at this
current time working for 3 days , 10 hours a day, so 4500 will be paid out on
actors, so my budget for my radio drama will cost me around 5600 with some
maybe left over.
Actors
Guy Andrews Guy will play Anro, aged 18, male, but I feel Guy was a good
choice because he can do a range of voices on characters, it was important for
Arnos character to be good at expression and delivery of words, there is a lot of
silence in it and I needed someone who can deliver words as precisely as
possible to add more dramatic effect.
Ben Snellgrove Ben will play Indy, Aged 17, male, I feel ben is good with
accents and has a deep voice, so this is good for someone to play who is abit
older, its also important for me that actors really understand what situations the
characters are in in the radio drama and it is important to get actors who can
really create that feeling across in the radio drama. As in radio drama all you can
do is hear things execution on audio has to be key to create a outstanding radio
drama which I think I can do.
