CAMERON CRUICKSHANK

STOR
Y
RAF Benson, a place
where once the Royal Air
Force used to base, fight,
and live, now its a ghost
town. When Former
Private Arno Andrews
gets thrown into the
ghostly survival game its
all about survival and
tactics. He is given the
task to find his way out
of the ghostly game but
what could jump out at
him remains to be seen.
Survival is key.

FORMA
TS
my radio drama will be a
single play as this is a one
off story containing the
story of Arno Andrews to
survive a horror game
show. It fits into this
format because this is a
one of story and there will
not be any more episodes,
its a special edition of the
production. But one day
could be made into a
feature length film, so this
would make it play as this
is the only edition.

GENR
E

My chosen genre is Action and Horror. These two

together I think create something unique. This is
appropriate to the genre because my drama will
contain action footage and jump scares which
could be seen as horror and thriller both together,
this is suitable for I feel this is a very good
combination as you do not see much horror and
action combined together so I think this is unique
as this may could combine 2 different approaches
to a drama and create a all round production. I am
trying to create something which will grip people,
but then also keep them on their edge of their seat
thinking of what is going to happen next. From
research I found in target markets, I understand
that it is a very strained industry, but with action
and horror combined together I feel this is offering
something unique and would interest many more
people. I feel also this could become into a film
and is something that could happen in the future

NARRATI
VE
Narrative - My drama will be a
open, non linear narrative as
their will be flash backs involved,
and also it will be a open ending,
with a cliff hanger so then the
audience can then wonder what is
going to happen next, and come to
their own conclusions on what
might happen, this is a great social
point for people to then interact
and talk. With research I found that
many radio dramas such as the
Archers use cliff hanger endings so
it is a technique to create more
drama and get people to listen to
the next piece.

Arno Andrews 32 years

old, Brown hair, 510
history as RAF Soldier who
gets made redundant
along with many other
RAF soldiers, background
of growing up in oxford
and always having
aspirations for being in
the RAF which he did at
the age of 16, at the age
of 26 was made
redundant from the RAF
and got part time job as
he couldnt be posted
anywhere else, having
family problems, arguing
wife and divorce is
possible, but she is
pregnant with his child. A

Indy Barrock 28 years

old, based in RAF in
Scotland, who is put into
the game, Arno comes
across him in the Game
and become friends until
he becomes mentally
insane and tries to kill
arno, Indy is Scottish but
brought up in Oxford, 61
tall, Joined RAF at 19
years old, character is
very quiet, subdue,
becomes a good friend of
Arno who eventually lets
the game get to him and
tries to kill him.

CHARACTE
RS
Darcy Andrews 28 years
old, 53, wife of Arno.
Been having many
problems with Arno and
sick of his laziness and
lack of enthusiasm.
Comes across as a
strange, questionable
person and comes across
abit crazy. Pregnant with
Arnos child, 11 weeks.
She is the person who
masterminds the whole
game on the RAF base
and puts arno in it.

ACTO
RS
Guy Andrews Guy will play
Anro, aged 18, male, but I
feel Guy was a good choice
because he can do a range of
voices on characters, it was
important for Arnos
character to be good at
expression and delivery of
words, there is a lot of silence
in it and I needed someone
who can deliver words as
precisely as possible to add
more dramatic effect.

Ben Snellgrove Ben will play

Indy, Aged 17, male, I feel ben
is good with accents and has a
deep voice, so this is good for
someone to play who is abit
older, its also important for me
that actors really understand
what situations the characters
are in in the radio drama and it
is important to get actors who
can really create that feeling
across in the radio drama. As
in radio drama all you can do is
hear things execution on audio
has to be key to create a
outstanding radio drama which
I think I can do.

Darcy - TBC

TARGET
AUDIENCE
17 50 year old men and women
detailing the group of people who would most likely
be interested in it
people above 60 will want to listen to more relaxing
and old fashioned story whereas people who are
between this age bracket would be more interested
in horror, action, and the story of my radio drama
I dont think this would be suitable for older people
and with my target audience I believe this
realistically is the age bracket in which people
would like to hear the content I have involved
audience can expect their to be frantic scenes and
hear frantic panic like noises, obviously to the
horror side as well dramatic noises such as fading
footsteps, pure silence, slow breathing, scary music
which will all build up to anticipation for the
audience and keep them gripped to my story as this
creates that dramatic effect for the horror content.

ON
AIR
my drama will be aired BBC Radio
4 is

this is the biggest radio drama station,

with this station that enables me to
show my radio drama and allow people
to listen on the most popular radio
station possible. I feel a later time of
21:30 will be the time I use as it is at
night, still relatively early so people can
put their radios on and listen, also to my
target market more adults will be awake
around this time and be able to listen to
the drama either in their cars, at home,
or on their phones, its also dark at this
time which sets the mood for my drama
and creates even more tention for when
my radio drama will be played.
