* Many types of animals live in ocean water and
lake water. They use the dissolved air in water.
* They show many adaptions some of them are:
* The animals like fish have streamlined body. Such
a body reduces friction and helps in swimming.
* Fins of the fish help it in swimming. * To prevent rotting and decay, the animals develop special covering like scales waxy coating etc. * Special breathing organs like gills in fish are present.
Aquatic animals
Some sea animals like dolphins and
whales do not have gills. They breathe in air through their nostrils (blowholes). This helps them to breathe when they swim near the surface of water. They can inside water for a long time without breathing. For breathing they come out to the surface from time to time.
A desert is defined as a region that receives
very little rainfall. It can be hot or cold. There are various
types of deserts all around the world, from the harsh elements of the Sahara desert in Africa to the 4 deserts of the Southwestern United States. Areas in Antarctica are examples of cold deserts. The animals that live in the desert usually have special adaptations that allow them to survive the extreme temperatures and conditions that are present in a desert.
A good example of an animal with special adaptations is the
camel. A camel can drink very large amounts of water in one
day or survive for a relatively long time without drinking any water. Some animals of the desert are also endangered.
