intensified & diversified during the reporting year. Pitambara Jan Kalyan Trust
is a Growing Non Government Organization & an Understanding &
Responsive Body of Donors & Supporters Whose Role is Crucial in Keeping
Programmes Alive . We would Like to Express Our Deepest Gratitude To All
Those Who Have Supported Our Work And Continue To Support us As we
Move Ahead . This Year We Continued To receive Support From The Rural
Communities, The Deprived Section Of The Population , Friends and
Colleagues From Other Spheres Helped Us Decide On Where We Will Work
And How We Will Work . We Would Also Extremely Thankful To All Those in
The Individuals And Organizations That Were With Us During all Our Joys And
Sorrows.

Pitambara Jan Kalyan Trust Laid Its Foundation Stone In

The Year 2005. It got legal Status In The Year 2006.By
Registration Under Trust Act 1882 By. The Like Minded And
Committed Members Of The Association Took A Vow To
Eradicate
Poverty,
Eliminate
Backwardness
And
Discrimination among The Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes
And Backward Communities Living In The Deep Ravines And
Forests In The District Of Dhanbad, Dhumka And Pakur. It
Primarily Focuses On Capacity Building Of Youths And
Women. But The Communities of Scheduled Tribes Have No
Access to The Human Resource Development And Access to
The Resources. Hence, The Dedicated Social Works
Committed To The Cause Initiated Integrated Development Of
The Women And Children Of These Marginalized Sectors Of
Communities. The Organization Is Operating In Rural and
Urban Settings In The Dhanbad, Dhumka and Pakur District .
Under The Leadership Of Mr Himanshu Shekhar Tiwary , Who
Dedicated Himself To Fought Against Corruption , Atrocities ,
Torture , Injustice And Deprivation Of Women In The Socio
Economic And Political Sphere.
Women And Children Are The Focus Point For Intervention In
The Activities Of PITAMBARA JAN KALYAN TRUST. The
Organization
Advocates
For
Sustainable
Human
Development, Liberation From The Drudgery Of Evils And
Exploitation Especially In The Poor Marginalized Rural
Community. It Stands For Promoting Socio Economic And
Political Justice To All Men And Women Irrespective Of Caste,
Creed, Color, Religion And Language . It Believes That No
Development Can Be Meaningful And Sustainable Until And
Unless There Is Equal Participation In Every Sphere Of Life.

PITAMBARA JAN KALYAN TRUST APPROACH

This year too , PITAMBARA JAN KALYAN TRUST continued with a

community based approach for working with its project
beneficiaries; focusing on community organization and
empowerment of rural women and poor, to promote their long
term development. For wider coverage and reaching the poor and
the under-privileged, issue based interest groups in villages were
promoted. Along with this developing a regional forum in the form
of Federations and Mahila Mandal of these groups was also the
focus; so as to enhance their power of collective action.

NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

School Children Were Also Involved In The Awareness

Campaign. School Children Delivered Speeches On The
Environmental Issues. The Action Component Involved Plantation
Of Trees And Preparation Of Vermicompost Bed In The Village.
The Farmers Were Motivated To Plant Trees And Adopt Organic
Farming. Various Methods Of Composting Techniques Were
Demonstrated Among The Farmers And Advised To Use BioPesticide In Place Of Chemical And Harmful Pest Control
Measures. The Cleaning Operation Was Also Taken Up At The
Drinking Water Source So As To Ensure Safe Drinking Water To
The Villagers. The Villagers Were Enthusiastic And Happy To
Participate in The Cleanliness Drive.
Women Empowerement

Pitambara Jan Kalyan Trust is also engaged in the activity of

empowerment of poor especially women who are daily wage
earner to meet their day to day requirements, They are engaged
in dehadi majduri and were spoiled by the middle man. The
organization is looking after these matters and giving training and
facility to establish handicraft work and working for capacity
building through which they will become self dependent.
Pitambara Jan Kalyan Trust firmly believes that Empowering
Women to be key change Agents in an essential element to
achieve the end of hunger and poverty. Wherever we work our
program aims to support women and build their capacity.
The Results of these programs include: Providing Women Easy access to Credit

 Adequate Training and instituting in them the importance of

savings
Enable Women to engage in Income Generation Activities to
increase their incomes and invest in their families and
communities.
Protection of Environment

As we all know the reason for irregular monsoon, hot

environment, acid rain etc. The only reason is deforestation. The
organization is giving much more emphasis on Plantation and
preservation of environment. The organization conducted the
Plantation program. They are also conducting some nukkad natak
to create awareness amongst people for global warming, and to
avoid the usage of Plastic.
Vocational Trainingoi

PITAMBARA JAN KALYAN TRUST has initiated a Computer Training

Program in the Dhanbad District For Making People Self Reliant.
Where Many General People Benefited By This Program. This
Program is trying to give assistance to needy people so that they
could know how to access computer.
Bamboo Crafting

Pitambara Jan Kalyan Trust has initiated a bamboo crafting

program to preserve the forests and at the same time for
sustainable social & economic development. The program was
conducted in Pakur & Dhanbad District where more than 180
people got benefited with this program. The Objective of this
program is self employment of the local people so that they can
earn their livelihood.
