MedicationSummary
Lesionsoffixeddrugeruptionresolvespontaneouslywithavoidanceoftheincitingdrug.Additionalmedications
shouldbeusedtorelievesymptomsassociatedwiththecondition.Generally,anoralantihistamine(eg,
hydroxyzine)andatopicalcorticosteroidmaybesufficient.Theuseofcorticosteroidsmayinterferewithlater
diagnosticprovocationtesting.Hyperpigmentationmaytakemanymonthstoresolve.Incontinentpigmentinthe
dermisrespondspoorlytotopicalbleachingagentssuchashydroquinones.
