As a result of this lesson, students will be able to:
Label a plant cell
Describe the function of cell wall, cell membrane, nucleus and mitochondria
Teachers Prior Preparation/Organisation:
- Weebly site created.
- Additional resources provided to students and
uploaded to weebly page.

Provision for students at educational risk:

- Ensure all students are using electronic
devices as an educational tool
- All the struggling students sit close to each
other and teacher to closely assist
- Advanced students, look further into the cell
and not just the basic functions

Lesson Steps:

1. Student log onto their weebly account and click the link to an
interactive cell tour
(http://www.cellsalive.com/cells/cell_model_js.htm)-. Students
tour the Plant Cell.
2. Students complete a plant cell game, which comprises of
them labelling a plant cell.
3. Based on the information from the cell tour, students create a
Capzles. This is a story telling program. The aim is for the
students to create a Capzles describing the structure and
function of a plant cell. Teacher explains how to use Capzles.
Students are to use images of cells and clear descriptions of
the functions of key parts of the cell.
4. Additional resources have been provided for students to help
them with extra information for their Capzles.
