Reflection on lesson: Overall, I thought the lesson went well. The students have been exposed
to the game prior to me having them play it, so they were familiar with what to do. I had to recap
with them since it had been a while since they played it. The students did a great job with the
focus and review questions. Some students did not get as far along as I had hoped as far as
tasks, so next time I should allow for more time. Some students were confused and thought they
only had to complete one task on the card, when I wanted them to complete as many as time
allowed. I will need to be more specific in my directions in the future, not just with this game, but
any activity I may do with the class. In order to prevent confusion, I will next time need to ask a
student/or students in the class to repeat back to me what is expected of them during the
independent practice time. Although there was confusion, the students enjoyed the roll and
answer activity because they got to interact with one another. They got to talk about and get
ideas and how to phrase their answer from each other, even though they had to each had to
write their own answers down. I did not do a closure wrap up, which is something that I will need
to make sure to carry out in future lessons.
