Dear Becca,
It is my esteem pleasure to share this letter of promise with you as one of the many ways I hope
to support you with the completion of your Masters Degree. From the first time we met at the
Graduate Assistant Orientation to today, I have truly enjoyed sharing our SDA and SU
experience together as colleagues, classmates, peers, and great friends!
There are many qualities that stand out to me when I consider your professional promise. Just a
few that initially cross my mind include how honorable, passionate, and caring you are.
You have a genuine authenticity in following through with your promises to others. Whether it is
noted in your reliable day-planner so to meet a vital deadline or simply touching base with a
close friend to offer a helping hand, you are always in-tune to others and mindful of how your
days, weeks, and months ahead. In addition, you are dedicated and thoughtful when it comes to
the work you do day in and day out. That is why I see you as an honorable professional.
Second, you are passionate about the fields of higher education, student affairs, and academic
affairs. You took the brave step forward to not only relocate away from your family, but made
the immediate shift from your undergraduate degree with OSU to commence your graduate
degree at SU. I admire your spirit, dedication, and intentionality to see your passion through.
With an older brother already enrolled in the SDA program as well as a series of mentors who
are legends in the world of student affairs, you also did your homework so you always knew
what your were getting into! I love your passionate approach to connect with others and start
each day with the energy, enthusiasm, and curiosity for life long learning.
Third, and most important to your current role in advising, is the level of care you bring to your
work with students, colleagues, and campus partners. I am so thankful for the chance to work
along side you as career advisors. Honestly, no one else will ever be so wonderful to share an
office with. During our time in Career Services at SU, I truly enjoyed watching you grow from a
thoughtfully curious intern to a confident, student-centered, advisor. You bring such devoted
care to the people you work with and I am honored to call you a colleague and peer.
All in all, Becca, you have been such a vital aspect of my SDA and SU experience. In addition, I
gained a great friend. From talking about wedding plans to where we aspire to be career-wise in
five years, you were always there for me. Thank you! I look forward to seeing you walk down
the aisle next and to commit to a life-long friendship, supporting each other through the next few
decades of our professional careers.
Buckle-up lady, were in for a wild ride. Remember, Im here for you too!
Lots of love,
Kjirsten KJ Eisentrout
