IEP Goal Examples, in Three Domains

Personal-Social
GOAL: Student will comply with simple one-step direction on first request with 90% accuracy 4
of 5 trials.
Objective: Student will comply with simple one-step direction, given by an adult, on first request
with 80% accuracy, 4 of 5 trials.
Objective: Student will comply with simple one-step direction, given by an adult, on first request
with 85% accuracy, 4 of 5 trials.

GOAL: Student will visually attend to communication from teachers or class work tasks for 30
seconds with 70% accuracy 4 of 5 trials.
Objective: Student will be able to visually attend to teachers during communication or class
work and instruction for 30 seconds with 50% accuracy 4 of 5 trials.

Objective: Student will be able to match colors, with partial assistance or prompts with 65%
accuracy 4 of 5 trials.

GOAL: Student will be able to match shapes correctly with 90% accuracy 4 of 5 trials.
Objective: Student will be able to match shapes correctly with 70% accuracy 4 of 5 trials.

Life Skills
GOAL: Student will increase her personal hygiene independence by using the restroom when
taken an average of 80% of the time 5 of 5 consecutive trials.
Objective: Student will use the toilet when taken with assistance 40% of the time throughout a
day, 5 of 5 consecutive days.
Objective: Student will use the toilet when taken with assistance 60% of the time throughout a
day, 5 of 5 consecutive days.
