Research Changes
Initially in our proposal we decided to explore different types of research sources from
books, website articles, databases, and newspapers. We didnt clearly define the objectives that
are going to be discussed in our presentation except the fact that our project was going to be
about the declining bee population. Our intention before was to investigate different angles of
our phenomenon. After doing some research we are able to clearly present the angles we will be
discussing. Some things we will explore are the purpose of bees in agricultural production, the
process of cross-pollination, cause of colony collapse disorder, and any opposition towards the
phenomenon. Before doing research we were unclear as to what we were going to research and
just talked about what the phenomenon was. So clearly our ideas have evolved after reading
some sources and gaining information about our topic. Some detours we made during research
were to include the governments side of the story instead of just the science and research side of
the story. We found out some important decisions made by the government that impacted groups
of individuals who researched the situation.
One particular source that was found had completely opposite views toward that colony
collapse disorder. This source argued that bee populations are actually increasing on a global
perspective and that there is no decline. Reading this article made us want to include it in our
presentation as an opposing perspective. That way it shows that our research on the topic was
investigated thoroughly. This was an unexpected avenue that led to changes in how we were

going to present the topic. Hope fully the changes made shows the extensive research done to
explain our topic.
