Classroom Experience & work Experience


Student Teaching (Tea, SD).

2015-Present

I am currently student teaching in a First grade classroom in Tea. Half of my student teaching will be here and
then I will move to the intermediate building to student teach in a resource room for special education.
Field Experience

2013-2014

Throughout my education at DSU I have been on many field experiences In Madison. Some of the classrooms or
lessons for Elementary Education that I have taken part in were: teaching reading lessons to kindergartners,
teaching a lesson to fourth graders about the Arrows Data Center. I also helped with the field trip to Arrows
Data Center. I have given DIBELS tests to Kindergarten 2nd grade. I have given 4th graders Bader reading tests.
For Special Education I have worked with a patient at ECCO and observed students with behavior problems. I
completed my level IIIs at Tri-Valley where I observed a third grade class. I also prepared and taught 5 different
lessons during the two weeks. In Tea I taught and produced a teacher work sample over a science unit in first
grade.
Mentoring

2009-2014

My senior year in high school I was a mentor for a full year. I worked with first graders. Also throughout college I
have gone back to the same class and helped whenever needed.
After School Program (TASK) (Tea, SD)
I am a TASK Adult Aide. I supervise

graders and lead the Rec room during choice time.

Water Safety Instructor (WSi) (Tea and Madison, SD)

2008 - Present

I teach all levels of swimming lessons and create lesson plans for each session.

2012-2013

Program Assistant - I was in charge of planning and leading activities. I also applied classroom management
skills.

I am currently working towards a Bachelors of Science in K-8 Elementary and Special Education with both a

Teacher Beliefs

I believe that as educators its our job to always be professional.


I am always learning in and outside of the classroom.
One of the theorists I agree with is Bandura; it is important to have a positive role model.
Classroom management and structure are very important.
It is important to be aware of individual students needs.
