GPA: 3.79
EXPERIENCE
Asset Development Intern-Deepwater
B.S. Petroleum Engineering
Gulf of Mexico Business Unit, Chevron, Covington, Louisiana
May-August 2014
Summer Projects:
Updated and calibrated a complex network model consisting of two Smart seawater injection wells located in the Tahiti
field in the deep water Gulf of Mexico
Learned and applied knowledge of technical softwares including the Integrated Production Modeling (IPM)
suite of tools- GAP, PROSPER, MBAL to create and calibrate the model
Used PI Datalink to obtain real-time information to match rates on model
Worked with Subsea engineers, Operations engineers, Reservoir engineers, and geologists to obtain different
types of data to input into the network model to accurately model pressure losses
Worked with vendors to obtain choke performance information. Analyzed data and applied it to network
model to predict choke performance
Calibrated the model to march current zonal injection rates and pressures so the model could be used for well
rate estimation
Reviewed choke rate method calculations for 8 subsea production wells using PROSPER to determine if a method
could be calibrated and utilized for identification of washing out/ damage to chokes during production
Attended trip offshore to Chevrons Tahiti platform for two and a half days
Toured facility with Facilities/Operations representatives and learned about production processing equipment
and seawater processing equipment
Attended morning safety meetings
Talked to operators in control room about daily operational duties and procedures (e.g. flow assurance, shutins, ramp ups, sanding events, and pigging flow lines)
Attended an introduction to slick line operations trip to Superior Services
Toured facility, looked at various types of slick line units, looked at basic tools run into wells on slick line
and, witnessed an actual slick line unit rig up on a training well and runs made into the well
Completed Safe Gulf training class on offshore safety
Volunteer experience: Judged robotics and CO2 dragster events at NSBE SEEK (Summer engineering experience for
kids) camp in New Orleans
Petroleum Engineer Intern- Reservoir
May-August 2013
EXCO Resources, Dallas, Texas
Summer Project gathered and analyzed completion and production data from over 2000 wells in the Eagle Ford trend
to gain insights on optimal well designs
Prepared presentation and presented project results to engineering staff and senior management
Attended various field trips to drilling rigs, tool shops, and several vendor manufacturing facilities for oilfield
equipment
