2. By the end of the month, Students will participate in traditional and new dances
3. By the end of the month, Students will listen to selections of Carnival of the Animals and Ballet
of the Unhatched Chicks.

Lesson One 4/13 -4/22:

Sing: John the Rabbit


o Teacher will song, and students will respond with yes

o Students sing Yes Maam
Movement: Kings and Queens
o Teacher as students what King and a Queen are, and what
are some ideal qualities of a King or a Queen.
o Dub all students a King or a Queen.
o Have students pair up and get a poly spot each
o Have students in their pairs create two parallel lines and
stand on their poly spots.

o Teacher will move a bird on a stick to the music the twinkle
will be rain falling.
o Students will listen a second time and they will flicker their
fingers to the rain.

Lesson Two 4/23 -4/30:

Sing: John the Rabbit


o Each student will sing Yes Maam
Movement: Who Stole My Chickens
o Students will learn the song by rote
o In eight, drum beats the students will find a partner.
o When students sing, Not Me the will point to themselves,
and when they say You they will point to their partner.
o Students will then have 8 drum beats to find a new partner.
o Do this a couple times, then change it up, so that there is a
disappearing beat, so the first time they have 8 beats and
then how many beats would there be if I took away one? 7
beats. Work down to four beats.
Movement: Kings and Queens (Review and Perform)
Listening: Carnival of the Animals Aquarium
o Students will design a fish while listening the first time.
o The second time the students will break into four groups,
groups one and two will go first and they will take turns
phrase by phrase swimming their fish across the ocean,
while groups three and four watch. They will then switch.
