An exchange is a good experience and a great opportunity.

While on an exchange you learn

new Spanish and are able to use your Spanish. Also your confidence builds and you get more
comfortable with using your Spanish. An exchange also allows you to learn about a different
culture which is a great opportunity. I would definitely recommend doing a Spanish exchange.

An exchange is good because: its cheaper than a trip, you learn more about Spanish culture
and history, you get to eat A LOT. You learn more of the language, you meet new people and
you make friends

The trip was very good and interesting, it was also fun because Miss teaches us funny
phrases you wouldnt have learned in a lesson (such as me mola que te cagas) It also really
helps with your ability to speak and understand Spanish. It is also fun because you can laugh
at the teachers doing unsensible things

The exchange was a really good experience. It is very interesting to learn about another
culture and you also get to make lots of new friends, which is always good! Id definitely
recommend it, it pushes you outside your comfort zone but its worth it as it improves your
knowledge and understanding of Spanish.
En general pienso que el intercambio era muy interesante y divertido. Las actividades eran
emocionantes.

The exchange was really good, you learn lots of new useful phrases, and your understanding
of Spanish improves massively. Everyone on the exchange is so nice especially your partners
and families. You get to see Spain and its culture in a completely different way, because you
are living in a Spanish family.

In my opinion, and exchange is good to do because it gives you a chance to learn the
different ways of life and culture. It also lets you freely make an opinion on the country and
people. Its an experience that will change your point of view on different traditions. All the
worries you may have about the trip go away as its so fun and enjoyable, theres nothing to
be afraid of. If you ever get the option of an exchange take full advantage of the
opportunity.

An exchange is good to take part in because you learn more about the Spanish language,
culture and traditions. You meet new people and share new experiences. You try new things,
see new places.
Haces nuevos amigos. El Museo Reina Sofa es muy interesante y el arte es muy guapo. Me

The good thing about doing an exchange is that you develop your language skills and make new
friends. I was nervous about meeting the family but they were very welcoming and made me
feel at home.

simptica.

Also you meet more people. I worried about not understanding the family but they helped me

Ir de intercambio fue muy bien y divertido. Me quedo con una familia muy simptica y me
gusta todo. Nos fuimos a muchos sitios interesantes, como Iglesias, Madrid, las montaas y
Toledo. El intercambio es una buena idea porque es muy divertido y la comida es muy rica.
Tambin es mucho mejor que Inglaterra y es Bueno para practicar espaol. Si tienes una
oportunidad para hacer un intercambio necesitas ir!

The good thing about doing an exchange is that you meet loads of new people and learn more
about the other country and culture. You learn a lot more of the language than you wouldnt
normally learn in class. At first I was so scared of meeting the family because I didnt know
how to talk to them and I thought it was going to be really difficult but they were really
welcoming and I felt at home straightaway. Even though I have only been studying Spanish
for 5 months I still understood a lot more than I thought I would and I learned loads of new
phrases.
En el intercambio lo mejor era que fui a Toledo porque pienso que era muy interesante y
tambin mi familia era muy simptica.

An exchange is good because it gives you the opportunity to visit new places, Madrid, Toledo,
try new things, try traditional food, snow shoe walking, learn new phrases and meet new
people, and most of all, just have fun! I think we were all a bit nervous at first because we
were going to be staying with people we have never met and going to places we didnt know.
But once you get there all that disappears and a couple of days into the trip you start to feel
like one of the family. All the families are very friendly and welcoming, and on a night you
normally meet up with the rest of the group.
Me gusta mi familia porque es muy simptica. Madrid es bastante fenomenal y Mr Blacklock
es muy divertido!

For me, I wanted to embrace everything the country had to offer me. The food was
fantastic, both in the home and in the restaurants. Any worries I had soon vanished due to
the friendliness of both the staff from the school and the wonderful, caring family with
whom I stayed. The two cities we visited were different, but both beautiful and aweinspiring with their culture and architecture. There were many highlights, but for me my
abiding memory is the amount of hard work and listening the students put in to make it an
experience I wont ever forget and I hope it happens again for me one day.

Exchanges are a fantastic way to meet new people, and as all the students have said already,
learn more about the language and culture of the country. Its normal to feel nervous about
staying with a family you dont know, but as all the students have said, the families we stayed
with in Colmenar were so friendly and welcoming. Huge thanks to Ana Gutierrez for being so
lovely and organising our fantastic activities. Also to Laureano, the head teacher, for his
commitment to providing and pushing these cultural experiences forward for his school, and
for his support, welcome and energy!
Lo pasamos todos fenomenal en Colmenar Viejo y espero que todos tenemos ganas de volver
el ao que viene!

The exchange was an excellent opportunity which enriched my Spanish and helped me develop
a further understanding for the country and all it can offer. I loved my host family who were
extremely helpful and welcoming which calmed my nerves completely.
Me encanta mi familia espaola y no puedo esperar para continuar mi relacin con ellos, no
cabe duda de que el intercambio fue emocionante!
