Many things have changed since I left Nashville for the last time when I was with Southwestern only a year and a half ago; and believe me, after spending three of the past summers there, something felt quite absent when I was still at home in May. At any rate, Tam now happily living in Dallas with my wonderful new wife, Julie. We decided to have the wedding at State, but now consider Texas as home. I really have enjoyed the challenge of working with PricewaterhouseCoopers as well; I’m mostly preparing tax returns for corporations and partnerships. 1 also just sat for the CPA this past November and anxiously awaiting the results next month, For all this, all I can do is thank God for my health and you for the experience! In fact, I ‘would say that one of the most influential things in my life to this point has been Southwestern ~ I hardly think that I would be at the same place now had it not been for my student manager pulling me aside and asking me if I wanted to sell books. Passing the CPA will undoubtedly be a comerstone for the rest of my career here, and that's certainly one thing for an accountant — but I really don’t believe that I would have developed the ability to set and attain goals this early in my life if I hadn’t given myself that chance to fail. My spiritual growth, my professional growth, and my personal growth can all be attributed to what I leamed selling books, door-to-door.
