My position as the
Junior Achievement
Liaison was an
opportunity for me to
work with my
colleagues across all
grade levels. I had to
work with the Team
Leaders from each
grade level to provide
the appropriate Junior
Achievement
volunteers at the
approximate time
according to the
district curriculum
And, if the grade level
was in need of a
volunteer, my
responsibility was to
contact the district

The Junior

position was selected
by my principal
because the previous

moved to a different
school in a different
district. My principal
felt this position
would offer me an
opportunity to

colleagues and district
personnel. In fact, my

the position.
The data I use for the
Junior Achievement
lessons is generated
by the district-based
curriculum and the
specified schedules.
Each grade level has
specified dates in
which they have to
adhere to according
the district
expectation. I have to
provide the district
with the volunteer
information and the
dates the lessons were
completed. The
lessons have to
correlate with the
scheduled dates.
Again this project was
given to me because
my principal felt this
was an administrator
role, and she had
previously been the
Liaison for her
campus when she was
an assistant principal.

each volunteer

submitted to the
district office. I
monitor the lessons
for status and
completion dates.
Once the entire grade
level has completed
all their lessons, I

office. I scan an
additional document

process continues
with every grade level

of ensuring all
deadlines were met
according to district

learn the timetable for
each grade level and
the number of
volunteers needed to
complete each lesson.
2. The students benefited
by this project by
learning about the
importance of being
financial literate in the
areas of saving and
making money. Each
lesson provides
students with an
opportunity to learn
about being financial
responsible for their
actions, as well as, the
importance of working
with the community.
Additionally, the
curriculum introduces

being an entrepreneur
and the benefits of
being a business

means all the lessons
would be completed
in a one day cycle.
Volunteers from the
community bank
volunteered to assist
parents with teaching
all the lessons. The
banks volunteers
were excited and
expressed they want
to participate again
next year. The last
scheduled Junior
Achievement date of
May 15th is scheduled
for 5th grade.

3. The school benefited

from this project by
opening up their doors
to community and
parent volunteers.
Each grade level had
representatives from
both the parent and
community teaching
lessons. Many of the
volunteers expressed
how welcomed they
felt in our school
environment and
looked forward to
participating again
next year.
