WHAT IS A TABLET?
A tablet is a wireless, portable
personal computer with a touch
screen interface. The tablet form
factor is typically smaller than a
notebook computer but larger
than a smartphone.

IPADS
An iPad is a tablet produced by Apple, Inc.
Uses in the Classroom:
Watch videos multiple times in order to understand the process
of math equations
Take tests in order to promote a paperless classroom
Take notes that can be backed up to a server
Eliminate need for textbooks by providing e-textbooks

iPads are extremely useful in the classroom. Not only


do they make the classroom greener by eliminating
the need for paper, they can also make learning fun
and easier, along with their portability .

Works with Windows software that students are familiar
with

KINDLE USES
A Kindle is a small hand-held electronic device used for reading books,
newspapers, and magazines.
Kindle readers give one the ability to highlight a word to see the
meaning. This is helpful in increasing vocabulary.
Different students read at different proficiency levels. Kindles allow
access to more books as well as preventing embarrassment for students
reading at earlier levels of books.
Allows for different interests by providing a variety of options.
Text size can be adjusted to help students see better.
Public-domain texts are free.
Prevents using tablets improperly by being used only for reading.

children need in reading: fluency and comprehension exercises for
children reading at levels k-4. The reading passages resemble every
reading textbook or standardized test.

Bluster apps for class is a wonderful app created by


McGraw-Hill. Any student from PreK through 12th
grade could use this app. This app has over 800
vocabulary words for students to learn.

Target Audience 2nd grade, 3rd grade,


and 4th grade. For 2nd grade , focuses on
prefixes , synonyms and rhyming words.
For 3rd grade prefixes and suffixes , root
words , and homophones. For grade 4
focus on prefixes , suffixes , adjectives
and rhyming words. This app is both Free
and paid for.

This would be good for students struggling with reading . Students


are to read a short story with a timer to receive a fluency score,
then followed by comprehension questions from the article.
There are over 250 different stories to have the student relate to
everyday life. This is to provide new material at every level.
Parents and teachers can create multiple accounts at every level.
