linked to breast cancer because parabens have a
weak ability to mimic estrogen

BHT
a yellowish white crystalline solid that companies use to make food, makeup, and
skin cleansers.
Skin cleansers and makeup decompose, have an oxidation process in which they
release harmful molecules called free radicals, which cause damage to cells over
time.
has antioxidative properties, and it works to neutralize the oxidation process by
taking on the stress caused by free radicals.
Applying BHT to rats skin affected their lung function

Diethyl Phthalate
Commonly found in cosmetics,
fragrances, and to make plastics more
flexible
Products in which it is also found in
include: toothbrushes, automobile
parts, tools, toys, and food packaging.
is a hormone disrupter
linked to sperm damage and other
reproductive
damages
can be released fairly easily from
products

Lipstick
commonly used lipstick brands contain lead,
cadmium, chromium, aluminum, and five other
metals
chromium is a carcinogen linked to stomach
tumors
the concentration is low, however, overexposure
should be avoided

Mascara
harmful ingredients include aluminum powder
(colorant, neurotoxic in high amounts), vitamin
A acetate(ester of Retinol, causes biochemical or
cellular changes), and parabens
companies known to have products with the
