ANNOTATION
Holliday reviews the opinions of
each side of the Israel Palestine
conflict. She give quotes from both
sides and stats their views on
certain points on the conflict. She
helps me see what each side wants
in order to establish peace and
really shows their hatred towards
the other side. The topics covered
for instance are each sides
viewpoint on the holy sites of
Jerusalem, Palestinian Borders, and
Palestinian refugees and right of
return. For example, on the return
of refugees Israels said but it
should be the Palestinians' business,
not ours. I don't think they have the
right to return to Israel." While
Palestinians said "Israel should be
responsible and guarantee homes
for these people, either in the
Palestinian state or in the place in
Israel from where they came. If
they don't want to come back, they
should receive compensation." Also
covered the potential of peace and
covered previous persecutions that
both sides have receive throughout
history. Holliday did a great job of
giving easy and understandable
information about the subject and
covered all the major points of the
conflict.
This article did a great job of
covering the major wars throughout
the conflict. Some of these wars
were the 1947-1949 or the six day
war. They gave great information of
how these wars furthered the
conflict. For example the six day
war allowed Israel to take the
remaining 22% of Palestinians land,

THOUGHTS
This article helped me realize the
true feelings of each side in the
Palestinian Israel conflict. What I
took away most was definitely the
thoughts of each side and what they
want for peace and how tense the
situation is.

Once again I got a lot of good

information about what is making
the Palestinians so angry. I also got
to be refreshed on the past wars and
how they fueled the conflict. One
of the most surprising things I took
away was about the Zionism and
learning about extremism on the
Jewish side.

the Gaza Strip and West Bank. They

also gave a brief overview of the
current conflict. They talked about
the rising conflict and potential of
another war. They also talked about
what is making the Palestines even
angrier. These things range from
Israels military control of
Palestinian land to holding men,
women and children in prisons.
Lastly they talked about Zionism.
This is the extremist Jews that have
been looking for a Jewish state and
wanted it to be Palestines land.
This article by a college student had
great information. The writer tried
to write from a nonbiased point of
view. The writer tried to cover
what both sides are going through
and thinking, For example, the
writer said about Palestine The
Palestinian story focuses on
victimhood, their suffering and
dispossession and their deep sense
of injustice at being punished
because of Europes treatment of
Jews. While the writer said about
the Israels story The Israeli story
emphasizes their long-time historic
attachment to the land, the
legitimacy granted by the UN
partition plan, the hostility and
constant threat of wars coming
from their neighbors, and the
rejection of their peace offers. The
writer did a very good job of
covering the history of the conflict
and what has led to all the anger
and hatred. For example, Arabs
went from the majority of the
population to only 20% of the
population once Jews started
migrating. Arabs saw this as Jews

me a lot more background on all the
information that I gathered from the
previous two articles. It did a good
job of filling in the gaps for me.

buying their land, buying up
property and becoming more
organized and a serious threat that
made them feel increasingly
dispossessed. This article basically
covered everything I found in my
previously two articles but also
gave good unbiased opinions on the
matter.
"The Most Practical Solution to
the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict."
The Most Practical Solution to
the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.
FLAME, n.d. Web. 11 Feb. 2015.

This article talks about all the kinds

of solutions that could solve the
Palestine Israel conflict. The reason
this is so good is because the author
also debunks the solutions. He
explains why certain solutions (like
one state and two state) wont work
and why others are more likely to
work. The author also goes into
who is backing up the solutions.
For example with solutions the
outside world favors or which
solutions Israel or Palestine like.
The author tries to give a solution
that incorporates all the past ideas
and improve on them. I do think
some of the authors views are bias
and seem to weigh more heavily on
Palestine not getting a fair share. I
did read that Palestine is being very
stubborn when it comes to peace
talks, so it was nice to see this fact
again. I think in the end though
there was a lot of good ideas in this
article for peace. It gave reasons
why something or would not work
and even proposed new ideas.

What I mainly took away from this

was how to come up with ideas for
peace. I really got to see what might
work and what wont. Also seeing a
new proposal for peace was a nice
inspiration for thinking outside of
the box.

This article was very useful and

help connect a lot of information
back to my pervious article about
solutions. This article gave quotes
from both sides on whether or not a
one state solution was good. It had
direct sources from media and
popular people in the conflict. It
really backed up and reinforced my
doubts about what I was previously
hearing. This article gave me a
great sense of how the solutions
might work and might now work
and good reason to why. Receiving
multiple opinions instead of just
one was very nice. This article had
20+ people who had opinions on
the matter. This is a great amount of
information to help make a
judgment.
This article I found pretty similar to
my last article "Is a One-State
Solution an Acceptable Solution to
the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict? It
gave me so many opinions on
whether a two state solution would
work or not. This opinions ranged,
once again, from professors to
media sources to politicians. The
thing I found interesting about this
was how my opinions were in favor
for the two state solution. There
were about 4-5 times the amount of
opinions in favor the two state
solution. This could tell me it seems
promising or it can tell me the
people writing this were bais about
who they got their opinions from.
Either way all this information once
again helped me enforce my
previous knowledge. Both sides
had opinions on whether the
solution would work or not. It was

from this was the backing up of
what I previously knew. I got some
concert support for why a one state

even nice to see the outside world
commenting on them and seeing
what they thought.

I found this peace treaty to be very

useful in my endeavors of creating
my own peace treaty. While this
peace treaty is not between Israel
and Palestine it is between Israel
and Syria, who shares similar
problems with Palestine. The
Clintons talked about solutions for
Israel and Syria to end their war
and come to peace. Because of this
the treaty allowed me to see what is
need to be stated in a treaty. They
also gave me good ideas of how to
handle certain problems that Israel
and Syria faced and implement
similar solutions with Israel and
Palestine. The Clintons gave good
examples of how to categorize and
set up articles. They did a very
good job in helping me focus what I
was talking about and showed me
how to look at the problem from
both sides.
This source told about the history of
Palestine Israel peace talks. It starts
with the very first peace talk,
Resolution 242. This took place on
November 22, 1967 and started the
movement of land. And it goes to
the most recent talks Annapolis in
2007 which talked about removing
Israeli forces from the West Bank.
This article also covers attempt at
peace talks. For instance, it covers

What I really took away from this

peace treaty was being able to see
what a real peace treaty looks like. I
based my peace treaty heavily off
this because the topic was very
close to mine and the format was
very clean/clear.

What I really took away from this

article was what ideas have worked
and what ideas have failed in the
peace talks with Palestine and
Israel. This article gave me a great
background knowledge of how
peace talks between the two groups
have gone in the past. And this has
allowed me to rethink the way I will
be presenting my ideas of peace.

the peace talks in Washington 2010

that simply tried to produce some
short of agreement between the two
groups. This article covers all these
peace talks in a summary in what
they tried to do and if they worked
or not. Throughout each summary
you can see both sides and what
they want from the other. You can
also see how stubborn they can be
towards the opposing side. This
article simply did a great job of
covering the history of the peace
talks between Palestine and Israel.
Like its counter parts this Beinin
did a great job of giving me the
history about the Palestine Israel
conflict. Beinin covered things
from history of the land of people
before the conflict to peace
proposals between the two groups.
It also covered everything it talked
about in very good detail. Some of
the big things that Beinin talked
about that I thought were important
were the United Nations Partition
Plan, which helped move Jews to
Israel, Palestinians, who they are as
people, the wars/peace treaties and
the major organizations in the
conflict, like the PLO. This article
covered so much more that it is
hard to even try to cover it all in
this summary. Beinin covered every
big thing that is important to the
Palestine Israel conflict. He did a
great job of simply expressing the
facts and not taking a side.

I found this article to really give

nice unbiased information. It also
informed me a lot about the history
of the conflict and peoples history.
This article simply gave me a better
perspective of the whole conflict.

"A PERFORMANCE-BASED
ROADMAP TO A PERMANENT
TWO-STATE SOLUTION TO
THE ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN
CONFLICT." UN, 24 July 2003.
Web. 12 April 2015.

This document laid out the plans for

establishing peace in the coming
years. It was created by United
States, the European Union, Russia
and the United Nations. This
document calls for an independent
Palestinian state living in harmony
with Israel. It did this by laying out
a timeline of what needs to get done
by 2005 in order for peace to
happen. It describes in detail the
plans from year to year and from
month to month. This plan was
only a draft though and never made
it to the implementation stage. This
document also showed us Israels
main demands but not Palestines as
much.

This document allowed me to see

what a peace plan looks like and
gave me ideas of how to implement
peace. It also allowed me to see
what Palestine didnt like about
Israels main demands. Overall it
was a nice example of a peace
treaty/plan that allowed me to start
creating my own ideas for my peace
treaty.
