Louisiana Lesson Plan

Curriculum-Framing Questions

Goals

The students will learn about the history of Louisiana and


the geography of the state. After discussing the Louisiana
purchase, students will transition to learn about specific
qualities that make Louisiana unique such as the symbols
and wetlands.

Unit Summary

The unit uses Louisiana history to gain a greater understanding of the process of Louisiana
statehood, the symbols which represent the state and its history. Finally, students will learn
the uniqueness of the Louisiana wetlands and the benefits that they bring to the state.
