SNOWBALL
I made myself a snowball
As perfect as could be.
I thought Id keep it as a pet
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas
And a pillow for its head.
Then last night it ran away,
But firstit wet the bed.

BOLITA DE NIEVE
Fabriqu una bolita de nieve
e intent que saliera perfecta.
Decid que durmiera en mi cama
como si fuese una mueca.
Le cos un bonito pijama
y un cojn para la cabeza.
Pero anoche se march de casa
y las sbanas dej mojada.

Lets review. I will first tell you the answer, then we will say the word together and

Explanation: I thought of doing a bilingual podcast because I live in San Antonio,

Texas and want to go back there to teach and many of the schools there have
bilingual classrooms. I thought a podcast was a great way to incorporate learning
another language and when I need to learn something I learn it better by hearing it.
This podcast is about hearing both languages in a short fun poem but focuses on
writing what you hear but also having the visual of the poem on the work sheet to
translate English words to Spanish.
Reflection: I had a lot of fun recording myself and making the podcast sound more
interesting as I went through it. I thought about adding music to the background
while I was reading the poem but that may have seemed too cluttered. I feel I could
have added a lot more to this lesson like making another work sheet where the
students can draw out the poem as they heard it so they would be able to get all
three learning styles visual, kinesthetic, and oral. I got a lot of my ideas from
different elementary podcast idea websites. I thought about using this particular
podcast as a take home assignment or if they missed class I could email the parents
this as a little practice, or I could have made it just me saying the poems and make
it a flipped classroom assignment where the students would come in the worksheets
filled out and we would go over the answers together. I really liked making the
podcast, not to use it in place of my teaching in the classroom but as a way for
students to take learning outside of the classroom. I had a lot of ideas of how to
change the podcast but I think its in a perfect middle ground where I could change
it if I wanted to make it better or just keep it the way it is.
