- Students will show their understanding of dolphins and the basic things that are incorporated
with a dolphins life by being attentive during the lesson and creating a picture and short story
to reflect what was taught
- The student will be able to identify the particular number of dolphin species in the world and
answer other given questions about the different dolphin species.
- The students will demonstrate their understanding of the similarities and differences
between different dolphins by researching information and creating a brochure

Accommodations for Differentiated Instruction

Directed Browsing Activity: A child with special needs could


be paired with another student or associate teacher to assist
them with completing the directed browsing activity
Resource Student

Brochure: The student could be coupled with another student


who may be able to help him or her to complete the activity.
Kid Pix: Children with special needs will be assisted by the
teacher and also the other students in the childs group.
Directed Browsing Activity: The teacher could translate the
directed browsing activity worksheet into their native language

Brochure: The teacher could help the student with the


translation to English.
Kid Pix: Theses students could be helped by the teacher
translating the lesson and the story the student writes.

Directed Browsing Activity: The teacher could modify the


worksheet by adding more questions and websites for the

Brochure: A gift student could be required more explanation of


each subsection.
Kid Pix: The gifted students could be required to give a more
detailed and factual baised story along with their picture.

Student Assessment

A unit test will be administered at the end of the unit and the students will present their
brochures that they made to the class.
