From The Principal.. By Mr. Ryan R. Starr

April was a wonderful month of educational experiences! Our students enjoyed a visit from Lynne Jonell (2nd/3rd grade), Chris
Grabenstein (4th/5th grade), and Daniel
Kirk (kindergarten/1st grade) during Authors in April Week. Students came away
from the experience encouraged by these
authors to turn their own experiences and
thinking into writing. Im sure we will one
day have the opportunity to purchase a
published book from one of our current
Hampton Hornets!
Our Hampton families also enjoyed a great
volleyball game at the 2nd Annual Hampton/Hamlin Staff Charity Volleyball Event.
Thank you to the many volunteers making
this event possible. Over $1,000 will be do-

nated to the Rainbow Connection in

memory of former Hampton Hornet,
Missy Valdez.
We have some great events coming during the month of May as well! Please

HAMPTON FIELD DAY 2015

CALLING ALL PARENTS - Wednesday, June 3rd, is Field Day at Hampton

and we need volunteers! This is a VERY important day for the kids and we
cant pull it off without your help.
It will be a day of lots of laughs and lots of fun, in a carnival like atmosphere. Activities for AM Kindergarten-Grades 1& 2 will begin at 8:30 and finish at 10:45. Activities for PM Grades 3, 4 & 5 will
begin around 12:30 and finish at 3:00. In case of rain, the alternate day will be Friday, June 5th.
Parent volunteers are needed to help run the various events. Please sign up at www.SignUpGenius.com/
go/904084CAEAD28AB9volunteers or return the bottom portion of this paper to your childs homeroom
teacher. There will be a brief organizational meeting held in the gym the day of the event hour before
each session. Dont miss the opportunity for a fun filled day with your child!
The purpose of the day is for our school to get together for an enjoyable two hours of activities and provide an opportunity for students, teachers and parents to interact cooperatively. Since we believe that
all of our students are winners, the need for athletic ability and the competitive urge to win will be kept
to a minimum. The real reward will be the enjoyment and good feelings of participation.
Please mark your calendars and plan to join us. Dont forget your film, a hat or visor and maybe a folding chair. If you are bringing little ones, be sure to remember sunscreen and liquids for them. If you
would like to send a water bottle with your school age child, it would probably be a refreshing necessity.
Hopefully, we will have a time for the participants to enjoy a treat halfway through the activities.
Thank you very much for your support!!
Please return this form to your childs classroom teacher by Friday, May 22nd.

PTA Board Next Year is looking for Volunteers!

The PTA will not be able to function without parents on the board!
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an active group of concerned
parents, teachers, and staff. The purpose of the PTA is to support the school

to be involved with a child's school is to volunteer as a member of the PTA.

Come together and join in the fun - all for a good cause!
PTA Board positions include:

Please consider volunteering for one of these positions to help make a

difference for your child at the school. Dont let the PTA sponsored
programs, events, and activities go away at Hampton!
