Moscow sent missiles to take down a Malaysian Airplane. The airplane fell down in
July 2014 over a separatist controlled corner of eastern Ukraine. The Ukraine
government saw this as an act of terrorism. This killed 298 people which caused
much violence. U.S couldn't figure out where the missile came from, but the
Ukrainian government said that the missile came from an advanced Russian made
missile system. Pro-Moscow separatists recently got a hold of this system which
caused Ukraine to believe that they sent the missile. Ukrainians believed it was
either Russia or pro-Russian separatists. Valentyn Nalyvaichenko said his
government found phone calls between members of Russias main intelligence
directorate and pro-Russian separatists which discussed to shoot down the
airplane. The plane caused a huge explosion which showed a huge cloud of smoke in
the air. There were twisted metal and bodies all over eastern Ukraine. It was said
that a number of passengers were going to the 20th annual Aids conference in
Melbourne, and some of the world's foremost researchers were on that flight.
Many rebel leaders denied to have anything to do with this attack, but phone
records have shown that they do. Putin said it wouldnt have happened if there was
peace between countries. Months after rebels have shot down many Ukrainian
military aircrafts.

I think that if the Russian government would try to obtain peace with Ukraine this
would have never happened. Just as protests were all around Ukraine pro-Russian

separatists thought they should fight back. This shouldnt have been done because
it just caused more chaos, and it caused a good amount of death. It also caused the
US to get involved because they wanted to know what was going on. It also causes
rebels to use missiles to shoot down Ukrainian military aircrafts. I also think it
wasnt necessary because it caused a lot of people to worry about if there was a
chance of more airplanes being shot down. I think this act of violence has a lot of
blame on Russia and the Ukraine because of Ukraine's dependence of Russia for its
natural gas. This caused tension between Ukraine and Russia which later caused
many protests. I think pro-Russians separatists felt the need to show Ukraine
some violence.
