Group 1

Group 1 of EDT 180B at 3pm, decided to research our topic on the food choices based on
where you live and how a persons eating habits is more towards the healthy side, rather than
junk foods. We conducted a survey in class containing six questions asking students their habits
in everyday life regarding foods and other general information. To collect our data and create our
survey, we used Google Docs Form provided by our instructor. We started our survey with
asking what year each student is in. With asking the year, we could possibly gather data to
inform others on the differences in the levels of a student and how they eat. Our second question
we asked was the gender of the student taking the survey. By asking the gender of the responder,
we could then break down to collect data and see if a male, female or other sex eats better more
days out of the week than the other genders. We could compare and contrast the genders and the
differences between each when eating healthier or not healthy in junk foods. We asked the age of
the student and where they live to provide more of a reason why their eating habits are the way
they are. Our last two questions told us how many times a week each student at healthy snack
over junk food. Once the student was done with all six questions, they would submit their essay
and we then conducted our results. In the end, we ended up with 29 students responding to our
survey on their eating habits.
When comparing the average amount of times a week between a male and female eating
junk food, the females mostly eat their junk foods 1-3 days a week more than the males, when
only 5 males said they have it 1-3 times a week and 12 females said they have it 1-3 times a
week. The females always had more than the males each section we asked (Never, Once a
month, 1-3 days a week, 4-6 days a week, and Every day), except for both genders tied with 2
male and females each eating junk food every day. Below is a chart, showing the differences in
the genders and how many times a week they eat junk food.

Once all our data was put together, we have come down to the conclusions of Females
eating more foods whether it be junk or healthy foods. The freshman had the highest percentage
rates out of everyone who took the survey. The younger and more unexperienced they are
seemed to play more of a role in how well they have eaten and where they have eaten either junk
or healthy foods. Some questions that comes to mind now that we have finished our survey
results, would be Should we have asked the students age to get an estimate of the ranges we
were dealing with and how it can affect the results and give more of an explanation of our

results. We would change it by making sure we asked all the right questions needed to receive
the best results we could in conducting the experiment.
