During my time at John Lewis, I worked in furnishing fabrics. Whilst working
there, a variety of roles in which I had included; responsibility of certain sections
of the department in order to keep it presentable and organised for the
customers, cutting material for clients such as PVC for table cloths etc.,
answering phone calls in relation to availability of certain stock and ordering for
clients, and responsibility of cashing up the tills at the end of the day and taking
the money to another part of the store where all the money was to be collected. I
feel my time at John Lewis increased my confidence a great deal as the
demanding atmosphere of the store kept me busy and increased my skills.

Working as a Christmas Temp at Wilkinson was my first experience of work
at the age of 16, whereby I was able to learn how to manage the tills,
dealing with customers on a day to day basis, and contributing to
managing the organisation of the company by placing stock in the correct
places in the store as well as being given responsibility for tidying up
around the shop and in the warehouse.

INTERESTS
In relation to my future job role, my interests primarily revolve around animals.
During the past two academic years of my 3 year degree, I have gained
experience handling companion animals at my university, learnt how to lamb
through a lambing simulator, and briefly had practical lessons at the equestrian
stud. I plan to do my dissertation at Colchester Zoo where I will hopefully gain a
lot more knowledge.
