Comp H.1b DCF 251 Licensing Rules and Regulations

Instructions: Using the DCF 251 regulations, complete the licensing scavenger hunt and
compare results with the key provided. Are there areas you were not familiar with? How
does your knowledge of regulation impact your practices?
Completing the licensing scavenger hunt was easier than what I thought it would be.
It was a fun way to review the state licensing rules and regulations. To my surprise, I was
more familiar with these regulations than I expected. I understand how to find information,
but I find it difficult to interpret the regulations at times. I do like the commentary version
of the DCF 251 because it gives more for information about the regulation.
An area of improvement for me will be knowing and understanding staff
qualifications without searching the qualifications of staff for the different roles and how
each of these affects other areas such as YoungStar. Knowing and understanding these
rules and regulations will impact my program and practices greatly because these are the
minimum requirements and they must be followed to be in compliance with our licensed. I
like to view these as guidelines for my program often. From the administrative aspect of
programming to customer service, all these areas are impacted by these rules and
regulations.
