Relevant Experience:
1999 2006 At an early age I began tinkering with all sorts of mechanical and electrical devices,
initially taking things apart simply to see how they worked, then later learning how to put things
together, including my own inventions. I also learned how to do origami and sold some of my
pieces at community gatherings and in front of various stores. I participated in workshops on
making homemade books. I began to learn the ins and outs of digital photography and graduated
from using hand tools to using power tools.
2006 2008 While in junior high I continued with the above hobbies and interests and also
participated in school science fairs. I helped students and staff with computer and copy machine
problems. I often helped staff set up for school events.
2008 2012 I have done many odd jobs for my parents friends and neighbors including repairing
and troubleshooting computers and related software and hardware. I have worked with small
gasoline engines including overhauling a two-stroke scooter engine.
-2-
I am good at assembling all sorts of devices without referring to manuals. (Since many manuals
are poorly written, I have found this to be a valuable skill.)
2011 I presented a two-month-long show of my engineering and arts projects at the Stella Fay
Miller Gallery at the Plumas County Museum.
Summers, 2012 2014 I have assisted Harlan Simon, Instructor of lampwork glass beadmaking, at the Feather River Art Camp near Quincy. Plan to do so again in 2015.
Current I have continued developing the aforementioned skills, frequently helping parents,
neighbors, fellow students, and even college instructors with computer hardware and software
challenges and problems with phones, tablets, MP3 players, stereo systems, etc., and am
comfortable with both Mac and PC computers. I have created an informal business of building,
programming and selling high-powered LED flashlights.
Current Projects:
I am currently in the process of designing a new workbench for use in my garage workshop, along
with various upgrades to lighting, tools and amenities in the workshop to allow me to be more
productive and efficient with my time spent there.
Honors:

Represented Feather River College chapter of PTK at conferences in Sparks, Nevada,
spring semester 2015.
