judge presentations, assist with student selection, listen to and give
feedback to students as they practice their presentations, moderate and
judge oral presentations, plus assist in judging poster presentations at the

a great race, followed by free food for all. On the day of the great race
my husband and I have been assigned many types of jobs, ranging from
timing the race to setting up and working at the food tables.

2012-2013

Faculty Workload Committee: The committee made recommendations for

faculty and departments submitting requests for changes in workload. This
committee was disbanded in September, 2013, as all future workload
request determinations will be made by individual deans.
Faculty Excellence Committee: The focus of this years committee was to
find ways to increase the number of students that complete the online
course evaluations each semester. Currently DSU offers an incentive for
those who complete the surveys, which is to see their final grades, before
students who do not complete the surveys. Contribution to the committee
was conducting a literature search of on-line course evaluations and
presenting findings to the committee. Based on this it was decided by the
committee that the following recommendations be presented to the Faculty
Executive Committee, for presentation to all faculty members:

1. Make evaluation a part of the course by administering a midsemester course evaluation, which allows faculty time to make
changes in their courses.
2. That DSU send out multiple reminders via the Canvas learning
management system to encourage students to complete the
surveys. Also that faculty make announcements directly to their
students.
3. That DSU continue to offer the incentive of seeing final grades
early for students that complete the surveys.
