It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Mrs. Erin Marshall in her
pursuit of a teaching position in your district. Mrs. Marshall completed her student
teaching in a fifth grade classroom at Hamlin Elementary this winter.
Mrs. Marshall had an excellent rapport with students and staff alike; she took time to get
to know each of her students as individuals not just as students. She demonstrated high
expectations of herself and of her students. When she took over the class, the students
were highly engaged in meaningful learning; even visible thinking routines, where Mrs.
Marshall stretched herself to incoporate routines not previously attempted in the
classroom. Mrs. Marshall utilized best practice in her lessons and differentiated her
instruction to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners. Erin worked well with her
supervising teacher in providing any accommodations or modifications necessary.
During her time at Hamlin Mrs. Marshall availed herself of opportunities to grow as a
professional; attending our annual Rams Horn Celebrity Server night, PTA Family Night,
Visible Thinking Wondering Wednesdays, Science Olympiad, and staff meetings. She is
firmly committed to growing herself to the highest capacity.
Mrs. Marshalls greatest assets are her care, dedication, work ethic, and passion for
education. Erin is humble, asks questions, and possesses an unwavering quest to do what
is best for her students. I would highly recommend her for a teaching position in your
district.
