ProbablyoneofthemostfamousandknownworkofartistheRaven,theraven
isapoemthatpoewroteinjanuary1845,thepoementailsawildraventhatgoesinto
thenarrator'sroomandsitsonabustontopofthedoorandthenarratorclaimstohear
theraventalkingandrespondingtohimandbeforethishehearsvoicesoutsideofhis
roomthathedoesn'tknowwheretheyarecomingfromorwhattheyare.Fromreading

confessestothemurder.Thisstorytiesalongtopoe'slifebyhimalwaysfeelingguilty
aboutsomethingandinthestorythenarratorfeelssoguiltyforkillingthemanthathe
confessestoit.Poehadalotofthingstofeelguiltyaboutsuchashimnotbeingableto
provideforhiswifewhenshewassickandcouldn'ttakecareofherselfandalsothathe
couldn'treallykeepasteadyjobbecausehewouldalwaysmanagetogetfired.

shewouldgetbetterandthenshewouldgetworseandthenbetteragainandallofthis
madepoehappyandthenwhenitwouldcomebackhewouldhavetosufferuntil
eventuallyshediedfromthediseasein1847.
