Interview Questions:

- Tell interview that he or she does not need to answer any questions if he or she
does not want to. As well, make sure they understand that in no way will we use their
names and any information that can directly be linked back to them.
- Ask student if it is okay for us to record the interview so that we can come back
to it again later.
- We can clarify any question or rephrase if wanted.
Background on Student:
1. Where were you born? Do you feel this location has an importance in
determining who you are?
2. Where did you study for middle school and high school?
3. Where are your parents from?
4. Do you feel that your household has a cultural identity? (American household for
example)
5. Did you live anywhere else other than in the US?
6. Do you think your previous schooling is different than that of a traditional
American student?
Background on Schooling:
1. Did you attend private or public school for high school in the US or where you
studied?
2. Did you feel as though you were in the similar situation as the other students in
your grade?
3. Do you find yourself to have had any trouble with schooling possibly due to your
cultural background?
4. Do you think SCU was a change in your learning environment? Did you need to
adapt a lot?
5. Average class size before SCU?

1. Do you find there to be differences in study habits between various students?
2. Do you find there to be an impact on study habits due to cultural background?
3. Do you think that you have a unique way of studying?
4. Do you think teachers at SCU adapt their teaching styles to student types of
learning?

1. Where do you find yourself to spend the most time studying in general?
2. What would you say is your average time of day to study at?
3. Do you prefer to work on weekends?
4. Describe Schedules for both Off days and work days
5. Do you work better alone or in groups? / Do you prefer to work alone or in

6. Do you learn better with the help of a peer, or do you prefer to find the solution
yourself?
