Imperialism has happened all around the world; countries are not suffice with their own status,

so they feel the need to barge into

another country and take what isnt theirs. While imperialism has fueled the global economy, its presence has disrupted indigenous cultures
by spreading racist beliefs and exploiting the natives for the better of the imperialists. This act has been the spark of both opportunity
and corruption throughout history. In many places its been known as the make or break of a country.

Although imperialism is responsible for fueling the global economy, the benefits that resulted from it only affected a small
population of the wealthy class, and hurt the natives. With economic growth came the need for expansion, and according to the U.S. History
Online textbook by 1850 the U.S. had control of lands from the Atlantic to the Pacific. As America grew, the nation soon became more
industrialized.
More industrialization demanded more customers and markets as Apecsec.org noted; and soon the American industry had
the opportunity of developing new markets of their own and could dominate them. Even so, both
Vladimir Lenin, the Bolshevik leader of
Russia, and J.A. Hobson, the British economist, criticized this economic exploitation. They claimed that colonization of overseas

territories granted the imperialists wealth, but that it came at the expense of indigenous populations. One example that Hobson used to
depict this issue was the imperialist Cecil Rhodes, the mining magnate of South Africa, because he used his wealth to help create a British
empire by obtaining mineral concessions from the most powerful of indigenous chiefs. Unfortunately, this wasnt the only negative result
of imperialism.

Due to the actions of the imperialsts, racist beliefs rapidly broke out and polluted the minds of many nations. Imperialism was
being justified on the basis of race, and because of it The British believed that white men had a duty to civilize the "barbaric" populations
of the world as Aatif Rashid discussed in his article The Cons of Historical Imperialism. Literature such as Rudyard Kiplings famous
poem The White Mans Burden, promoted this sort of discrimination, and was responsible for the industrialization of racism itself. Many
violent race-based conflicts were known to break out all through the British empire as the outcome of these hideous beliefs. Manifest
Destiny can also be seen as a racial injustice that occurred because of imperialism. When migrants continued to expand west, they settled
into Native American land. During that time, the natives were seen as inferior, and as the U.S. History Online Textbook states efforts to
"civilize" them had been widespread to the point where racial superiority reigned. The natives were forced out of their homes to make
room for the imperialists who were only concerned for the greater good of themselves. Imperialism not only introduced unfair racist
thoughts of indigenous people, but it also led to the abuse of a partnership between countries.

The relationship between China and Zambia is a perfect example when imperialist gain and indigenous people lose from imperial
invasion in their country. Alexis Okeowo, the author of China in Africa: The New Imperialists? points out that The threat of a looming
Chinese imperialist presence in Africa has given way to what has been called resource nationalism,; when countries aim to take control of
indigenous natural resources. Zambian unemployment and poverty, left them wondering where the benefits from the deals that were made
with the Chinese government had gone. China basically decided to take possession of African resources, while using their own equipment,
and without giving back to the source. In the words of the author, Alexis Okeowo, The people of Zambia have been complaining, about lack
of reliable and accurate information on the resources that are generated in the country or which come from foreign sources, and to fix
this issue, Zambia is forced to spend more money to create a monitoring system that oversees foreign affairs. Something that would have
been unnecessary if it werent for the imperialists, Chinas, faults.
Consequently, the global outcome of imperialism has brought more destruction than reconstruction to most indigenous populations. Not only
has it negatively affected the cultures of the natives, but it has also led them to believe that their should be a racial superiority between
people all over the world. Imperialists are finding it ok to exploit the indigenous, at their expense, in order to make the imperialist
countries more powerful; and that action should have never been allowed to begin with.
