Explaining to students some features of a legend and asking how they are different from explicatif textes (6 min) - Rcit imaginaire - Transform par les croyances que les gens racontent - Expliquer un phnomne - Morale, leon - lments surnaturels - Renforcer les valeurs de la communaut 3. Students are asked to look at the images, titles, intertitres and are to comment on them (2 min) Questions are asked regarding the first legend (4 min) : - Pourquoi voudrait-on capter le Soleil? - Quel phnomne cette lgende veut-elle expliquer? 4. Audio file is played for students and they are asked to read along (11 min) 5. Following the audio files, the text will be analyzed as a class and questions are asked. CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING Questions checking for the students comprehension will be asked to assure that all students follow the lesson. 6. INDEPENDENT PRACTICE Students will be asked to follow the audio file along by reading it independently. 7. CLOSURE Students will create their own legend, using their newly acquired knowledge of this literary device. They will also be made aware of the book talk that they will be giving during the following lesson.
