Dear Ban Ki-Moon,
I believe it is very beneficial to live in a globalized world. Before I give you my
reasoning as you should know, globalization is the process of international integration of
different views and cultures throughout different areas of the world. This, I believe, is very
important for every culture to be able to except and incorporate into their way of life. I strongly
believe this because globalization all throughout the world would allow different people from
different cultures to understand people of different descents and maybe inherit certain things
from one another. Globalization is what keeps the world moving in times of a drought or a lack
of nuances. Every culture around the world has its own beliefs and ways of living. Some of
these cultures are better in others in the sense that those certain people will survive/ living longer
than other cultures. If globalization would occur more throughout different cultures then more
people may be able to survive longer and live a more prosperous life.
There are many other positive things, not just survival that come from globalization
though. There is another aspect to it as well that not many people realize. This is the aspect of the
happiness and many other positive things that comes from globalization. Many people look at
globalization as a bad thing because in the past there have been a few times where it had taken
over a culture and destroyed what it used to be but that can be changed. As an example of
change, Id like to point out the globalization of sports, including the most popular worldwide
sport, soccer, and its activity throughout Brazil and Argentina in South America. The
introduction of soccer to these countries has made a huge impact on the way they live and has
given them a sport that a big portion of each country enjoys. This is just one of many reasons
why globalization is so important.
There are many governments out there that are working to keep certain cultures separate
from others, so that there is cultural diversity. Over the past few hundred years, more and more
cultures and becoming more and more in tune with western cultures and that worries certain
governments because they dont want every culture to be westernized. This is becoming a bigger
and bigger issue because whether the governments like it or not, they cant stop the amount of
cultures that are becoming more westernized. Besides this issue I believe that you have another
issue as well. You are currently trying to create a safer and more secure world right? I dont think
that will ever be able to happen. You plan to create a safer and more secure world by giving
peacekeepers the support and supplies that they need to end conflicts. Peacekeepers do not have
the power to create peace all over the world, all at the same time. This is impossible because
every culture and government is different so one good thing for one side may be very bad for the
other. Going back to what I had said earlier, globalization is key in every culture. The reason why
there is so much war and violence around the world is because there are so many different types
of people that believe a variety of different things. If globalization was promoted more than there
wouldnt be a problem in foreign countries. This is true because if everyone inherited a certain
way of living then there wouldnt be as much difference between the people. This would slowly
decrease the amount of cultural diversity throughout the world but globalization is the only way
