Lesson Procedure:
1. Explain that there are patterns in words that help us remember their spelling. Remind
students that the most words gets point for the team and individuals can earn points
with creative words.
2. Have group one think of words that are have ud and ub in them example cub
3. Have group two think of words that are have squ and str in them. Explain u after q
4. Have group three think of words that are __ u___e write fuse as an example
5. Have students underline smaller words within the bigger words on their homework
sheet example under/stand and g/row
6. Hand out homework
7. Send students into rotation groups.
Differentiation of learners:
To cater for students with needing additional support, the following strategies have been put
in utilised:
Have students in group 1 sit in pairs with other people from their group as a buddy to
think of words
