Ladies and gentlemen.

We are starting preparations for the second D-ART conservatorium, which


will take place in Vilnius from the 26th to the 27th of April 2010 (Monday –
Tuesday) in the Foreign Language Institute of the Vilnius University. Entertaining
us will be Danuta Bolshakajte. Projekt D-ART is co-created by representatives
researching discourse from Belarus, Lithuania, Poland and Russia.

We would like to present you the program proposition for our meeting:

Monday (26.04.)

1. Great narration of the contemporary discourse analysis:


a. semiotics
b. cognitive linguistics
c. functional stylistic
d. theory of communication
e. rhetoric
f. other
1. The role of the discourse researcher in science, education and society:
a. the discourse researcher as an involved social subject,
b. the discourse researcher as a neutral observer

Tuesday (27.04.)

1. The presentation of capabilities to finance joint research projects (grant


system).
2. Proposition of projects – discussion.
3. Work in workgroups:
a. methodological group – its goal will be preparing a Multilanguage
discourse analysis dictionary project,
b. empiric group – its goal will be working out establishments for
comparative research; suggested topics: immigrant discourse, the
influence of social groups in the media (lobbing discourse); please
present other ideas for discourse.
4. Summary meeting.

The tradition of our meets is the partaking of young researches in it. Just as last
time, students and doctoral students will be able to present their interests and
research in the form of conference posters.

In correspondence with the planned gain of grants, we ask all participants to


prepare a list of potential financing sources (along with a short description) that
will be discussed on the second day of the deliberations.

From the polish side, representatives from the University of Wrocław, University
of Opole, and the University of Kazmierz Wielki in Bydgoszcze have announced
their participation.
