The influence of early breastfeeding breast milk production in the
mother post Maternity Home in Hendriati Semarang

ABSTRACT
Early initiation is to let newborn babies to crawl toward her mothers breast, found
the putting milk, then suckle themselves for at least one hour. Breast feeding rates in
the first hour become decline for time to time. From research results of
(RISKESDAS) 2010 revealed that giving breast milk to newborn baby within the
first hour of 29.3%. This research aims to analyze the influence of early
breastfeeding influences the production of breast milk of post partum mother in
Herdriati Maternity Home, Semarang. Design of this research is quasy
experimental,and the number of samples is 32 respondents with total sampling
techniques. The results showed there was significant influence between early
initiation with breast milk production. Seen from the results of the variable that
breast milk production on the respondent who does a normal early initiation by
87.5% (0.05%) and p < more amounting to 12.5% (p < 0.05). Whereas the
production of breast milk on a respondent who does not do early initiation, less all
their breast milk or production of 100% (p. < 0.05). The characteristic of the
respondents who did early initiation aged 20-25 of post partum mother is 10 (62.5%)
and aged 26-30 of the mother post partum is, 6 (37.5%). While the respondents are
not doing early initiation aged 20-25 of the post partum mother is 8 (50%) and those
aged 26-30 is 8 (50%). Recommendation of this research is to know the influence of
early initiation breast milk production in the post partum mother, so that early
breastfeeding can apply in the real society.
