Roxas Field Ministry Visit Storm affected churches

By Leo Ordiales, White Fields Mission, Inc. Jan 5-7, 2005

Training of Pastors
From January 5 to 7, a quick ministry trip Mission Exposure of North American Youth
was done in Roxas town of Oriental Mindoro.
Among the itineraries is to visit again the
pastors and churches that were affected by the
storm “Unding”. Along with this, we organized
some of the pastors for a one day seminar on
Practical Evangelism. These ministries are done
together with 4 North American youth and their
Filipino American group leader. The North
American guests are hosted by Pastor Ralph
La Rosa an American missionary who leads a
church on Lucena City. Lucena Bible Church is excited
to partner with White Fields in ministering to Pastors.
The Young Americans went to Boracay and I
suggested they cross the islands, visit and minister to
the pastors in Roxas. Boracay is one of the best
beach resort in the world.

The young North Americans arrived via an inter island

boat from Boracay and Caticlan port. This boat can
take buses and cars for inter island transfers.

of Pastor Jesus. They hope to build a more
stable structure with some cement and stronger
wood materials.

Jerry Uy, the leader of the youth team, led the sessions
on Practical Evangelism. Books were also provided by
Lucena Bible Church.
STORM AFFECTED CHURCHES
Pastor Melchor Del Monte, a churchplanter we
had just a few years ago, went with me. Because he
is a carpenter, he can make suggestions and
assess the materials the church planters would
need as they asked for assistance.
Pastor Jesus Galos and Pastor Toribio Gantia are
very happy with the possible assistance from White
Fields for their broken church building.

TRAINING OF PASTORS
The training went well as coordinated by Pastor Venue of the training
Gantia and wife. They have been in the ministry for
a long time and have befriended a lot of pastors.
We held our training at their church in one of their
bigger churches in Paclasan, Roxas. I told them to
discreetly organize a seminar for twenty pastors only.
However, almost 50 showed up. Pastor la Rosa
covered the cost of the food and other expenses
in the training.

MISSION EXPOSURE
The last leg of the work is to visit the tribe handled
by Pastor Jesus Galos. With the North Americans
and Pastor Ralph, we went to the area where the
Mangyans live. Rough and dusty road welcomed
us. We brought some instant noodles to give away.
We are pleased to see them and for the Young Americans
to experience shaking hands and personally greeting
the tribal group. We just admired the passion of
pastor Jesus Galos to reach this people. He goes once a
week riding a motorcycle through rough roads and dust.
Pastor Galos hopes to build a structure for the tribes’
gathering.
