I.Motivation:Thelightsbeingoffinthecafeteriawillbemotivationbecausenormallythe
lightsareon.IwouldanticipatethestudentsnoticingthedifferenceandthenIwouldexpect
themtoaskwhywhichwillleadmeintomyfirstdemonstration.
GoalforLearner:
Bythetimewearefinishedtodayeveryoneshouldbeabletorecognizeexamplesof
electricalenergybeingtransformedtolightenergybyflippingalightswitchandturning
aknobonalamp.Weallshouldbeabletoidentifyelectricalenergybeingtransformedto
heatenergybyleavingalighton,andelectricalenergybeingtransformedintosound
energybyturningthepowerbuttononspeakers.Oncewehavefinishedgoingoverthe
demonstrationswewillbreakupintogroupsandgoonascavengerhunttofindexamples
ofelectricalenergybeingtransformedintoheat,lightandsoundenergy.Whilegoingon
thescavengerhunt,youguyswillbeusingtheiPadssowecanwatchwhateachgroup
foundandcompareandcontrastseachgroupsfindings

windowswillprovideenoughlightforthemtosee.Thewillgototheirpredeterminedseats

willcomebackhereandwatchthemontheprojectoranddiscussthemasanentiregroup.
YoucanusetheiMoviesoftwareontheiPadstohelp.Eachgroupneedstofindtwo
examplesofelectricaltoheat,electricaltosound,andelectricaltolight.
Everyoneinyourgroupneedstobeinthevideowithaspeakingpart.Thegroupwith
themostuniqueexampleswillwinaprize.Everyonehas20minutestogoaroundtheschool.
Weneedtobebackinthecafeteriaat4:30Wheneveryonegetsbacktherewillbesome
timetoeditthevideobeforeweshowthevideos.

transferredtootherformsofenergy.TheywilldocumenttheirlearningusingtheiPads.

theytransformedelectricalenergyintoheat,lightandsoundenergy.
