Terms and Conditions of Entry


Artists are invited to submit entries for pre-selection in 2015 Sculpture Walk @ Stony to be
staged throughout Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden on the day of the Spring Festival,
Sunday 13 September 2015.
TO ENTER, PAY THE ENTRY FEE ($20), COMPLETE THE ENTRY FORM (2 PAGES), AND LODGE IT TOGETHER

ELIGIBILITY
All types of sculpture and installations are eligible for entry. There are no location or size restrictions on
sculptures entered. When submitting works artists are required to consider safety, ease of installation and
removal, the environment and the ability of their work to withstand sun, wind and rain.
Please note that works considered unsafe by the judging panel will be ineligible.

AVAILABLE SITES FOR SCULPTURES
Artists are encouraged to visit Stony Range Regional Botanic Gardens and walk all of the tracks to
determine the most appropriate location for their entry and to include a mud map of the Stony Range
tracks with their preferred location marked.

RESTRICTED SITES
Some sites are restricted in order to protect the safety of people, artworks and the environment. The final
decision on all sites will be at the discretion of the site manager and discussion will not be entered into.

SITE SELECTION
Artists are encouraged to visit Stony Range Regional Botanic Gardens, walk all of the tracks and determine
their preferred site for their entry and indicate it on the relevant track map available at the gardens. Please
submit marked map with your entry form.

Artists whose works are chosen for exhibition will be notified by Monday 10 August 2015. The final site
selection for all sculptures in the exhibition is the decision of the selection panel. Discussion will not be
entered into.

COMPLETION DATE FOR ALL SELECTED SCULPTURES
A photograph of the completed sculpture must be provided by Friday 4 September. Electronic images must
be in JPEG file format (of a size not smaller than 400kB and not larger than 1MB) by email to:

ARTIST AWARDS
All visitors to Stony Range will be asked to vote on their favourite sculpture and a prize will be given to the
artist with the most popular piece (peoples choice). One lucky voter (drawn from the votes) will also
receive a prize.

TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE SITE
Artists are responsible for the transportation of their sculptures to and from the exhibition site. Artists
must remove all packaging materials from the site, and are liable for any damage that may ensue as a result
of installation or de-installation of their artworks.

INSTALLATION AND DE-INSTALLATION

Installation will take place on Saturday 12 September 2015 1pm to 4pm. All responsibility, including all
costs, for installation and de-installation of artworks remains with the artist. If you need extra hands, bring
them along.
It is a condition of exhibiting that:

selected artists provide a written description of the process to install and de-install their sculpture prior
to installation;
all selected artists are to have a daytime contact number or mobile telephone number during
installation, the exhibition and de-installation days;
artists provide a photo of the completed sculpture by Friday 4 September 2015, and
artists agree that their sculptures will not affect the environment or path in any lasting way (e.g. rocks
cannot be drilled into, trees cannot be cut back or drilled into, and labelled plants cannot be disturbed
in any way).

De-installation of sculptures will commence at the close of the Spring Fair at 4pm Sunday 13 September till
the gates are closed. Artists can also remove their sculptures on the following morning, Monday 14th
September between open of gates and 11am. All sites must be returned to their original condition by
each exhibiting artist.

ENTRY FEE
All entries will attract a $20 participation fee. This will be used for administration costs and to
provide prizes. There is no limit to the number of entries submitted per individual. Each entry will
require a separate entry fee, and must have separate documentation.

SALES
Entries may be labelled Not For Sale (NFS) or have a sales price listed. Sales are the responsibility of the
artist, and pieces for sale will have the artists contact telephone number displayed nearby and in the
catalogue.

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
The artist must hold public liability insurance in the amount of not less than 10 million dollars ($10,000,000)
in order to be considered for selection. Proof of Public Liability insurance must be provided. Please include
a copy of the Certificate of Currency for your policy with your application.

An artist who is a member of an association or entity that holds public liability insurance in the amount of
not less than 10 million dollars ($10,000,000) on behalf of their members may submit an entry endorsed by
their association or entity. A copy of the Certificate of Currency must be provided.

ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
It is important that artists adhere to the following terms:
1. Artist agrees that their sculpture(s) will not affect the environment or path in any lasting way (e.g.
rocks cannot be drilled into, trees cannot be cut back or drilled into, and labelled plants cannot be
disturbed in any way).
2. Once proposals are accepted for exhibition, they cannot be substantially changed.
3. All directions and requests from Stony Range Volunteers and exhibition staff must be complied
with.
4. Should you wish to use images of your work taken at the exhibition for any promotional purposes
including social media, websites, opening invitations, or photos submitted to publications please
notify by email to: maria1.romeo@gmail.com
5. The artist agrees not to issue press releases without the written consent of the Stony Range
Regional Botanic Garden Community Committee.

NOTE: By submitting an application you are agreeing to the Terms & Conditions laid out in this
document. The terms of this agreement apply into the future and are not limited to the year of
exhibition.
