ISC serves students who struggle to complete their classes in the typical arrangement. These students often have had poor attendance, struggle with classroom behavior, experience difficulty managing the curriculum outcomes in a large group setting, are experiencing stressful life circumstances (mental illness, family distress, addiction/abuse) or other issues that significantly impact their success. These students complete their learning in a module-based format with 1:1 or small group support, permitting significant and crucial relationships to develop with the ISC teacher. Students who have experienced significant challenges earning credits in a regular classroom are often able to show success in ISC. In some cases, this classroom is the essential and only route to earn Graduation credentials as they have not experienced success in other forms of delivery.
