My online assessment was completed through Socrative. I created this quiz to be

informative assessment in hopes to improve my instructional teaching methods within this long

chapter. We the People, which is the book we are reviewing from is lengthy in information and it
may be very rigorous for my special education students. I can utilize the data I receive form this
quiz and increase the skills from this lesson or decrease the skills to help meet my students
learning abilities. The quiz was given with only two selections to accommodate my students
learning exceptionalities. Their study guides were also modified to help them master the
information. https://b.socrative.com/teacher/#dashboard

Part 2: Blog Post

This paper will discuss the equal importance of software on assessments as well as in
instructional activities. Software has been added to lessons to keep students actively interested.
"Kids always want to communicate. But kids don't always want to think about school. If you're
trying to keep students interested, combining social networking with school just makes sense.
(Riddle, 2010) Social networking, Software, and many of devices are helping teachers carry out
their lessons for a minimal price, excitement, and creative surprises. Students are excited to see
different views on lessons, assignments, and classroom activities. Implementing software in
lessons is adding a lively twist to teachers and their lessons. Implementing software is improving
lessons, basic skills, and new skills.
Technology to Facilitate Ongoing Efforts to Assess Student Learning (150-200 words)
Software is presenting into lessons for several reasons. Initially, it is being used to bring
life to a lesson. As educators introduce a skill, implanting software, is like scoring a homeroom, a
touchdown to say the least. The good news with utilizing software is it gives the teachers a

chance to see how effectively a lesson is carried out by how well the students successfully score
on the game, quiz, or technical lesson presented. The range of electronic devices that can be used
for teaching and learning has blossomed dramatically since the start of the twenty-first century.
Touchscreen machines such as smartphones and tablet computers can fulfill a wide variety of
educational functions. (Flair, 2014) Software is a resource that is adding value to
I Pads can be used to gather valuable, informative information within seconds. Many educators
are enthusiastic about the use of iPads in education; they rave about their versatility,
connectivity, mobility as well as the potential benefits of thousands of educational apps. (Jones,
2013)
I Pads have tools designed for students who are hearing and verbally impaired as well.
Children are able to email themselves study guides, lessons, important class information and
other valuable classroom documents to help in their educational year. I Pads have redefined the
excuses of I left my book at home. With the I Pad teachers are able to access apps that allow the
students to access the books instantly. The teacher would also be able to take a picture of another
students pages in the book and send directly to the I Pad. The I Pads have changed the way
music, art, science, note taking, researches, etc. at a glance. The realistic images and the time it
takes to access different activities are the way of the world for many classes.
The Promethean Board, offers a plethora of education applications, from videos to
lesson plans to educational games, and teachers worldwide can share their ideas with each other,
"to borrow, steal or change. (Wells, 2011) The Promethean board allows educators to project
images, videos, lessons, etc. from their laptop or computer. Everything is made bigger and better
when using the Promethean board. Students are able to use an interactive pen and showcase their
work in different fonts, styles, and colors. The creativity is unimaginable when including

students into the lessons. This is a great way to do whole group lessons and keep everyones
attention. Lets say, a teacher is going over a math problem, she is able to use the pen and
demonstrate how each step should be made and the entire class would see it on the Prometheans
board. The Promethean board can project images form a piece of paper or a book. The
Promethean board is that one piece of technology, every classroom should have
(Formative and Summative Assessments) (100-150 words)
Formative assessment is the method teachers use to conduct evaluations of their students
comprehension, learning needs, and academic progress during a lesson or course. These
assessments help teachers identify if students have mastered a skill or struggling to gain
knowledge of it. Summative assessments are used to evaluate the students progress at the end of
the semester or school year. Technology can be used to analyze the data within each assessment.
When data is compared, the teacher has the ability to offer new programs for the students, study
habits, or unique methods of modifying the students work. Summative assessments in Louisiana
are being taken online. The PARCC is a summative that that is based on the students
performance during the mid-year and the end of the year. The students will be expected to take
this time assessment on the computer in the near future.
(Pros and Cons of using Technology to Facilitate Assessment) (200 words)
As many parishes utilize technology when administering assessments, they must consider
the pros and cons. School principals wait nervously for the results of assessments to see how
their school performed and where they grew or decreased in score. The uniqueness of the
technology relays the analyzed data without delay or common mistakes. Principals, district
leaders, and teachers are able to decide on if a student should repeat that grade, advanced to the
next grade, or maybe take remedial courses with the possibility of moving forward. The cons of

this would be accessibility issues, legalities, and confidentiality. Then, there are those issues that
principals are semi-trained for like, emergencies, loss of power on timed test, system failures,
and other chaotic mishaps. If this should happen, there would have to be a back- up plan that
would have to fall in place. School districts should be prepared for the inevitable and plan for
continued progress in using Technology to Facilitate assessment. Teachers should never rely on
one way to access student learning. Technology is an awesome tool as a resource but just as
some students have learning disabilities, some may have trouble with grasping technology
software and computer/laptop usage. Teachers should always consider their students unique
learning abilities.

What is the importance of assessment technology in connection with the ISTE standards?
Teachers should design, develop and evaluate their lessons to help students with their
learning experiences. Teachers should be sensitive in their design of assessments and the
resources they gather to use in academic instruction. Teachers should model and apply the ISTE
standards for their students as they gather information to introduce the lesson and design the
assessments. Teachers should also consider the technology they use as a resource when
introducing a lesson. How assessable is the technology as a whole group, how beneficial will it
be as an individual tool. All teachers should be required to meet the certain standards and
performances.
Concluding Paragraph for Software to Support Assessment
As students of the 21st century continue their education, they will be presented
with technology in many ways. Whether they are using a software program designed to introduce
them to certain skills, modify certain lessons, or complete assessments on the computers,

technology is here to stay. The mere fact that software continues to change, is all of the reasons
students should be geared to using technology properly and accordingly to their teacher or
instructors instructions. Implementing software is improving lessons, basic skills, and new
skills.
