CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
Thanks to this field experience I was able to understand better the SIP of my school. I understood
how the SES, race and gender as well as geographic diversity commonly affects our school
students access to internet or a technological device. Our education, and specifically, our school
needs a technological person to support in several aspects I found weaknesses. I learned how
digital opportunities varied according to the environment and politics in place. It was a challenge
for me to research about the budget and to talk to administrators about technology standards
accomplished in our school.
I believe I have improved my writing style and I am becoming stronger researching data in order
to support or propose ideas in writing.
Writing the mini grant for technology is an assignment I really want to apply this year in my
school through the grant program offered in my school by the PTSA.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
This learning allowed me to understand better the use of the SIP and the importance this document
has in our school. I am able to read and understand now the information provided in the meetings
about the SIP and the TKEYS. I believe the power is in the information. It is important to inform
teachers and being informed about the new technology standards and soft/hardware available for
teachers.
I feel I am able to facilitate the design, development, implementation, communication,, and
evaluation of technological infused strategic plan.
From now on it is important for me to demonstrate knowledge, skills and dispositions towards the
integration of a new technology in education.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
I had a lot of information to learn about and overall after the survey and the papers I have
submitted, I realized that it is necessary a change in my school. I can propose that change using
the vision of the school and county, making a SWOT analysis, creating a plan and evaluating it.
The proposal of having a technological training for teachers is not anymore a dream written on
paper. It will be reality. We will have in August our first Digital Language lab training. I believe
that this can be assessed easily with the administrators observations using the TKEYS.
